There is a password on the cemos i need to clean it because it can't boot on the cd rom GATEWAY 450ROG

Most probably you either have a loose connection between your monitor & your PC, or the data cable connecting the monitor & the PC is defective & needs to be either repaired or replaced.

You can try to use another cable of the same type & see if this will fix the problem.

Go into the bios and set the boot order to CD drive first and HARD DRIVE second.Setting the bios to defaults often doesn't set the boot order right to install an operating system

if your harddisk is ok than , u open your notebook motherboard and clean processor fan properly,,than again fitting your laptop than boot from cd rom (make sure that your cd rom is ok )

I have the very same problem, the Drive light turns red, the screen is "black" and the battery charging light indicator on the front is off. No differance if I'm traying to power up on battery or AC-adapter.

Before this problem appeared I had problems where the laptop was powering off, with no warning, and I had to restart it. This happened several times and was going on for about a week before it died totally. Can it be the CMOS battery on the mother board? Anyone having clue what the problem could be?

reset ur system frm the Bios ie reset it frm the mobo or just remove the Cmos battery turn on /turn off put the battery back.that bios wont be there any more.

Open the case and check for IDE CABLE if it is correctlly connecter to the mother board.CHeck for the JUMPER if it is SLAVE OR MASTER! if still not working change IDE cable!
