Question about Cameras
My name is Karen Henderson and I work at the Assabet Valley Chamber of Commerce.
About 2 years ago we purchased the Nikon Coolpix L6 camera to take pictures at all of our events. It has been working out great but a few weeks ago the zoom lens got stuck. It is sticking out about half-way and it won't go in or further out.
Is there anything that we can do to correct this problem or do we need to bring it in to have it looked at?
If you could get back to me I would deeply appreciate it.
Hey Chamber Girl,
One common cause of this is that something is stuck in the lens obstructing its movement (i.e. sand), and you could try blowing compressed air into the side of the lens to try and dislodge what ever is stuck. You could also try putting the camera on a flat surface with the lens pointed up and holding down the shutter button, and while doing this press the power button. If this doesn't work I would have it looked at by an authorized service technician, but I will say digital camera repairs often exceed the value of the camera. I hope this helps!
