Question about Nintendo GameCube Console

1 Answer

Nothing Happens My son says he spilled some sort of liquid (probably OJ) onto his Game Cube and now when you turn it on, we get no display. I am pretty sure the disk spins but nothing appears on the tv. Any suggestions?

When my little borther was playing my ds on saturday water went in the speackers now its like red and blue

If liquid got into the system it was likely ruined, especially if it was not turned off right away and if it was not allowed to air dry. It may be fixable, but you will probably have to send it into Nintendo's official repair service. In the future, make sure that if any liquid is spilled on an electronic device, turn it off immediately, and allow it to air dry. Do not even attempt to turn it on or use it for at least a couple of days.

MY CONCERN IS ACTUALLY FOR THE PLAYSTATION 3 SYSTEM,MY SON SPILLED ICE TEA ON THE GAME AND NOW THE PROTECTION LIGHT IS ON. CAN THAT BR CORRECTED? I USED MY HAIR DRYER TO DRY IT,AND YHE LIGHT IS STILL...

Unfortunately, even if you dried the system, the damage might already be done, and it's more than likely out of warranty due to liquid damage. My advice would be to contact Sony about a repair, sorry.

My son's psp will not turn on nor will it charge he says that some water might have spilled on it is there anyway of fixing this?

hello, Sounds to me if water has indeed spilled into the PSP then is has shorted out. Can i ask was it charging at the time water was spilled onto the device? I can suggest Replacing the battery, and also the charger. this should fix the problem.
push the "Push" button on the back off the device. Slide the cover off, place finger at top off battery. (were there is a lip) Pull finger backwards. battery is now out off the device.
Any further questions please feel free to ask. Thanks for using fixya.

When games are inserted into console they will not play

If you are inserting a DS card, be sure there are no foreign articles inside the slot. Blow into the DS card slot to clear any debris. Also be sure you are inserting the card all the way in until it clicks. I've also found that if you're powering on a game, and you bump, grasp or touch the ds card as the DS is powering on, that can cause it to not read games.

Check the actual DS card itself and carefully look at the exposed contacts on the circuit board. Be sure none of them are scratched, damaged or otherwise. A scratch can damage a contact, thus preventing proper data read.

If anything was spilled onto the DS card, be sure it is thoroughly cleaned with a damp cloth (no cleeaning chemicals!) If you immerse the DS card, or pour liquids on it, that may damage it as well.

Same points hold true for inserting a Gameboy Advance game (if you have a DS or a DS Lite. The DSi and DSiXL do not have Gameboy Advance slots.

If you turn on the DS and nothing happens, try a different DS Card. If it only happens with that one particular game (or games) your DS cards are damaged or need cleaning. If all your games are not playing, there is a problem with your DS. Try your games in a friend's DS just to make sure. You'll probably have to send the unit to Nintendo for repair, or take it to an authorized repair center.

I spilled some 7up on my dsi, my dsi's R and L buttons weren't working and so my cousin ripped them off(against my orders) So i spilled the soda on it, without the R and L buttons. Now it won't turn on,...

the problem is this, the liquid you spilled on it has gotten into the panel and has therefore caused a real mess of both your panel and device.this is common to all electronic devices, the only way out is if you can take it apart carefully and try to use a piece of cloth soaked in methylated spirit to wipe the entire board clean(methylated spirit dries faster and evaporates other liquids like your 7up which is probably still on the board causing damage).if this doesn't work, the only way out is to give it to an engineer or call the company because the liquid might have caused a short circuite and damaged the whole board beyond repairs.
here is an instructional manual on how to open it:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8RFuyiEATo

My son spilled a drink and got his nintendo DS wet , it all works but the bottom touch screen. How do I fix it?

Hello!

You will most likely need a new DS touchscreen.

I recommend that you clean the DS immediately. Even though its working now, the liquid could still damage components overtime if not cleaned immediately

We think a neighbor girl spilled liquid on/in my son's DS Lite. It now won't power on and the orange light will stay on for only a minute or two when we attempt to charge the unit. The battery is good......

If the DS was turned on when the liquid was spilled on it I don't think there is much hope to be honest:(

If it's under warrenty send it back otherwise you might try taking it apart and use a hair dryer to dry it off... that's a long shot though!
