Sounds like a defrost problem. Check to see if there is any frost buildup in the back wall of the freezer. If so, it is not defrosting as it should.

  • possible causes:
  1. bad defrost timer
  2. bad defrost heater (in freezer)
  3. bad thermo switch in freezer
If you don’t know what these are then unplug the machine and let the ice melt in the freezer overnight with the door open. Then try it the next day, if is cooling fine then you need to have a service person replace one of the above items.

Ice make make loud sounds and doesn't make much ice

First, you should have a warranty, check to see if it is still in effect. If expired, then can you describe the sound, and about how often? Also check the freezer temp. it should be 0 deg or below for proper icemaker operation. The colder it is, the more ice is produced in a day. And yes, if the mold heater isn't working, the thing will raise hell when it tries to cycle.

Frezer temp is 20 deg. fridge temp is 47 deg.

Remove the freezer shelves and bins. Remove the freezer back panel to access the fan motor.

Water was frozen all inside the freezer and fridge temp was high

Self defrost mechanism may have an issue. If it stays on too long you will have excessive temps build up in refrig as well as freezer. There is also a defrost thermostat that is supposed to turn compressor back on when temps get too high - check that out also.

New GE profile bottom freezer fridge intermittent buzzing

If the buzzing is a short (say 5 seconds) every once in a while, it sounds like the water is valve being energized. That would mean the icemaker is turned on and is cycling. Besides the noise, when it cycles it turns on the mold heater, which you do not need if not making ice, and thus is actually adding heat to your freezer, increasing operating cost. Just turn the icemaker off by flipping the toggle switch on the icemaker itself. It is a white switch near the bottom corner of the icemaker. Should be easy to spot.

Our ge profile is leaking water above the icemaker, help

Sounds like the inlet water valve for the icemaker is not shutting off 100%. That would result in either A.) a block of ice plugging the tube where the water passes through from the outside of the freezer into the freezer compartment, or B.) an ice waterfall in the freezer into the ice bin and/or down the back wall of the freezer compartment.
Solution to either: replace water valve and remove ice with the aid of a hair blower.
