Question about Olevia LT37HVS 37 in. LCD HDTV

Olevia LT 37 HVS HDMI PORT

I had a recent power outage during a thunder storm, the power was off only briefly(flickered off then back on). When the LCD came back on the color on the screen had changed from normal to a predominate black and red color with people figures still visible. This only happens when I turn on my LCD. To correct it, I must open the Menu screen and select the default setting to bring it back to normal again and then reset all my preferred setting again each time I turn on the LCD. My HDMI cable was the only connection from the LCD to the cable box. I have tried a new HDMI cable and had the cable company come and check out their equipment but the problem is still there. Any idea as to what could be the problem and how to fix it, thanks for your input. email: smoon472002@yahoo.com

You need to take the unit to an authorized repair shop to have it
check and correct it , looks like the power supply section got affected by the sudden change of voltage and damaged an internal part, hope this helps , AJ

HDMI Port Does Not Work

If 2 does not work it is likely the socket itself which means replacing the board they are mounted on, seen several techs try to replace a socket and not one had success.

Only one (out of four total) HDMI input is working on my set.

The HDMI switcher IC chips in TVs can be damaged but lighting hits near you house even if the power is protected with a surge protector. The damaging power comes in through the HDMI port and blows the chip out and it can affect just one port or multiple HDMI ports. Your best bet would be to just get a cheap HDMI switcher and use the one working port. The repair on the TV would require placing the control board and would run from $75-150 for parts plus the labor to install it.

Had a lightning storm, now brand new aircon wont restart, remote is ok

The electrical storm may have caused a power surge and burned out the circuit board. Especially, if the power went out briefly and then came right back on. Most manufacturers recommend turning the unit OFF during a power outage/electrical storm.

Hope this helps you.
