Some software my company uses needs a parallel dongle so I bought this product in order to use it. Unfortunately the address of the card keeps changing (my boss informs me) so we cant use said software. Can anyone suggest a reason and a fix?

you don't need the software, just connect the router to your pc via an ethernet cable, go to your web browser (internet explorer, firefox, etc) and in the address bar, type 192.168.2.1
once there, you should be able to configure your router for your internet connection
Go to www.facebook.com, click on the 'forgotten your password' link above the log in box. Enter the details needed, and click 'reset my password'
You WILL need to know your email address to retrieve the email Facebook will send you. If you don't know your email address password, recover this first by going to the website of whoever your email address is with. For example if you're with hotmail go to www.hotmail.com, if you're with yahoo, go to www.yahoo.com.
Once you have recovered your facebook password and logged on, you can then change you email address by clicking on 'account', then 'account settings' then clicking the 'change' button next to 'email'
the ip address should be given automatically by the router but since it is asking, in your computer go to start, run, type in cmd and hit enterm it should open a black box in that box type in ipconfig and hit enter, it should give u a list of result, search the one which says ip address, if the ip address of ur computer is 192.168.1.2,then the ip address for your xbox should be 192.168.1.7, if the ip address is different than the example i gave you just make sure that the difference between the last numbers should be 5 atleast....let me kno the ip address of your computer and i can tell what ip address u need for the xbox...........
you have to log into the main IP address, not the camera IP address. If you are using wireless, the camera will have an IP address different than the one for the router coming from the ISP.
I just bought this camera myself and am trying to work out the kinks. My ip keeps changing and i am not sure how to keep it the same, static?
to reset your ip address simply unplug your modem and router, turn off the computer, turn on the computer with out pluging the router and modem back in, turn the computer off , plug the router and modem in wait for the lights to come on and then turn your computer on.
connect the computer to the Voice terminal VT1005v( WAN port)<---PC and check the ip address on the computer which should be "192.168.102.X". Open the web interface of voice terminal ( type in " http://192.168.102.1/admin.html " in the address-bar of your internet browser ). you can see the Restore Factory Defaults button and click on it. So you can reset the device. After that, reboot the your whole network.
Start with the cabling. Check to make sure the Adapter LAN port is properly connected to your switch port and that you are getting a link light on both ends. It appears that this device can only run at 10mbps, so if the port is set to 100 or 1000, or even has the duplex set to full, you are not going to get a physical connection.
Next, check to see if there is any diagnostic utility to confirm that the IR port on the table is infact communicating with the docking cradle. Since this product is 10 years old and the company has since been bounght by a software company, documentation has been very hard to find. I did mange to find a FAQ re: setup here:
And two Microsoft articles mentioning that the IR driver has to be up-to-date in order to work:
Next, check that you have IP and IP address and IP connectivity. This can be done via the command prompt by typing the following command:
If you do have an IP address, then try to ping the Windows XP laptop with the following command in the command prompt:
NOTE: Replace the 192.168.1.100 with the IP address of the laptop. This info can be obtained with the same ipconfig /all command listed above.
If you get a response from the ping, thats good and means you have end-to-end connectivity. Then you will just have to check to make sure the microsoft client and file and print sharing services on installed and enabled on both the tablet and laptop. If you have folders shares on them, you should be able to go to Start -> Run and type the following and hit OK:
NOTE: Replace the 192.168.1.100 with the IP address of the other machine.
If you did not get a response from the ping command, then you have an IP connectivity issue and will need to trouble shoot that further. That could be anything from bad drivers to misconfigured IP settings or DHCP settings.
I know this seems like a lot, but there really could be any number of reasons why this is not working. To close, I will try to summarize.
1) Check the physical network connections on both computers
2) Check the TCP/IP network settings on both computers
3) Check the Microsoft Client & File and Print Sharing settings on both computers.
Careful with that firmware loading! If you load too new a firmware, the webramp will ask for an "UpgradeKey", which you can't obtain because the company's out of business. Then you just have a pretty brick.
