Check the hdmi port on you tv. There are some tv's that have an HDMI port that say HDMI/DVI(its a port for an older Digital Video that required seperate cable for sound), if this is the case then you need to hook it up to a different HDMI port on the tv because that input does not carry sound(you will see red and white audio inputs next to it) or use the audio outputs(red and white) cables and plug them into the out put of DVD player to the audio inputs that correspond to that same HDMI input. If this helps please rate me I do not get paid in anyway. I like to help people and want to make sure this is helping.

#dhb300b DVD player plays only black and white my TV is a JVC HD TV with HDMI cable from driver TV box hook up DVD to TV audivo to audivo video to video set TV to component program DVD to TV but plats

The yellow/red/white cables are COMPOSITE cables. COMPONENT cables are RED/BLUE/GREEN. You can buy those at any electronics store. Your best bet, though, is to stick with HDMI if you can.

LG blue ray won't play sound from RCA sound bar. HDMI cable is hooked into HDMi slot on TV

the details you provided were very vague, however from my experience when a device is connected to another device via and audio capable hdmi cable, that device renders it audio output to the device its connected to and normally turn off all other audio outputs beside optical- I would assume there is an option in the blue ray player to turn off hdmi audio, which will in turn activate other audio outputs- you may also look for audio out port on your tv, it is ideal to connect the sound bar directly to the tv set audio out ports. To sum this up,
if you plan to use your player via hdmi cable you need to turn off hdmi audio output on the blue ray player and the plug an audio cable from your blue-ray player to your sound bar
you may also as i said connect your sound bar directly to your tv, the issue is most tv sets now a days do not have an audio out port, if you do then everything you play thru your tv will have audio via sound bar
there are several way to go here but unless your sound bar has hdmi av switching capabilities (im sure not) this is one of the most simple--Good Luck.

HOW TO HOOK UP HDTV CONVERTER TO PLAY VIDEO ON TV

Need more specifics. What TV do you have? If you just want to hook up the blueray, you can use an HDMI cable from DVD to TV, or red-blue-green component video cables, or red-white-yellow cables.

I just bought a Blue Ray player but my surround sound has a dvd player built in and only one input which I have my new Sharp TV plugged into. How can I hook up my Blue Ray . I have the HDMI cables

Depending on if your surround system has a hdmi input or not. if it does you can connect the blu-ray player to it. If it doesn't have an hdmi input you will have to run the hdmi cable from the blu-ray to the tv then run a set of rca cables (red and white plugs) from the tv audio out to the surround systems' audio input jacks to get sound through the surround system. Most surround systems don't have an auxiliary input for another video device.

No owners manual can't get new blue ray dvd player to work on tv

Here is the manual:
http://www.hdtvsolutions.com/pdf/JVG%20HD52G56G.pdf

When using the HDMI connections you may have to tell the DVD to output to that port.  Also you may have to connect additional sound cables from the DVD output to the TV.

If your laptp has Blue Ray DVD it likely has an HDMI out jack. Connect this to the HDMI input of you tv. If you TV does not have and HDMI jack but had a DTV jack then get an HDMI to DTV adaptor.

The Yamaha RX-V463 AV does not playsound from the blue ray player

"I am also having difficulties in try to display the yamaha set up menu on the tv."
According to the manual the display menu for TV will not work with HDMI hook up.
I also have a Panasonic HD TV and can't get TV sound through my Yamaha AVR on "TV Sound" mode.  Trying to use HDMI cable for this also.  Do I need a digital optical cable or do I not have something set right?

Vsx-94txh

If I'm not mistake, it's dependant on you monitor's ability to display 1080p. I believe the defaul setting on the 94TXH is to read the TV's max resolution and anything above will not feed.
