Question about Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ5 Digital Camera

Just not working right

The power goes on and off and the little screen works but none of buttons are working. I bought new batteries and it still isn't working. I can't even reset it. I saw in a previous question you told the person to do a master reset. How do you do that.

I had the same problem. my fz5 stop responding to input from the rear buttons. If you go to: http://www.instructables.com/id/Repair-Stuck-Lens-on-Panasonic-FZ5/ at step3 you'll see the "rear control ribbon connector" highlighted. As I fiddled, carefully, around the ribbon came lose. It seemed a little to easy so I reconnected it and made sure the tiny black clips (you'll have to look closely) that hold the ribbon in place were properly engaged. Voila problem solved! Just make sure that, unlike me,you try this before you fork out on a new camera.

Hope this helps.

Seems like batteries don't work, but . . .

I think the problem was either dirty battery contacts or a broken connection somewhere with the battery terminals. I'd cleaned the contacts a number of times with a pencil eraser before, but nothing worked. This time, I just did it again and paid careful attention that both contacts on the battery door were protruding properly--could be that one of the contacts got pushed back such that it wasn't making proper battery contact. All I know is that it's working now, perfectly, after sitting for a couple of years on the shelf. I really like this camera.

Camera power problems?

It's not the battery. It turned out to be a memory card problem.

I took out my old memory card and put in a new one. It started working properly after that.

I have a camera battery question...Kodak M853.?

Hey cambameriezz,
I would make sure I purchased the correct battery, and if you did I would make sure the battery terminals in the camera are clean by cleaning them with a soft cotton swab. If none of this works I would try charging the camera using the ac adapter rather that plugging it into the computer.

Sincerely,
Allan

Zoom Error

We had this problem for about 2 weeks, we discovered that having the camera auto retracted after the "ZOOM ERROR" message, giving the camera couples of light slaps (slap the camera's LCD side and aim the camera down), this fixed the camera right away

You need to power it with rechargable batteries. with the MAH being no less than 2000. I bought a charger which came with 2batteries for less than a tenner

The card probably needs formatting. Or get the card check at your photo store in case it is faulty.
