Hi,
Most probably, Electrolytic condenser in the Power supply to display circuit may have punctured resulting in smoke coming out. Take tv to service centre. There is no other option.
Good luck.
Rating the solution is highly appreciated.
I had similar problem with a 42" Soniq plasma TV.
The fault was the start up / power up circuit board at a cost of $180 Australian including labour.
Alternatively:
The serviceman told me that it's not uncommon for him to see On/Off switches on plasma or Lcd TV's that have jammed up inside the TV even though the switch / button still appears to be working normal outside of the TV.
How is the input hooked up?.By cable? RGB HDMI? Check that the set is set to the right input.Check all connections first.Try a different input to see if you get Video.Good Luck.
Ur power inverter board it dead.It have burns capacitors.Buy a new board or buy parts for replacement.U know how to solder right?Tries these websites Shopjimmy.com,Tv Repair World.com,Ebay.com,and Partstore.com.
There is a board that manages the power going into your tv I would check around with local mom and pop tv reapir shops. The board is not expensive its the labor I am not sure where you live but I am sure there are local techs that work on flat panel tv's. They are pretty affordable these days. Most flat panel tv's are rated for 60,000 hrs as there life span. Hope that helps
heard a pop sound -- then the set went dead -- no lights, no nothing, and then there was a slight electrical burn smell coming from the back of the set :(
Not an easy fix because of the smoke which means that there is a short from a bad ground that may have blown a capacitor because of a loose connection. Often a short on the circuit board results in having to get a new one because of damage from the sparks. Make sure it is unplugged at all times until someone can open it and look. With any luck, the damage is light and the loose wire can be re soldered at minimal cost.
