Yes, you can try, although I am not sure if they ship out certain parts to individuals. Have to cornered the problem, and found the faulty part? If not you may want to swap out the entire PCB in the handset. Not sure if Uniden supplies these boards to non service center entities, though..

1.Check that the base unit's AC adapter is plugged into the both the base unit and electrical outlet firmly.
2.Wipe the base unit's handset holder's connectors and the connectors on the bottom of the handset with a soft cloth/rag or pencil eraser to remove any loose dust and dirt from the metal connectors.
