Question about Phones

1 Answer

Static No, not electronics. The store where items were purchased does not carry parts to this unit. Will have to contact Uniden directly for replacement parts. Thanks for trying any way...

Thanks for the suggestion, but it would probably be just as expensive to purchase a new unit.

FYI, came home from work today and the phone still had the icon but no static in the unit.

    Go figure.......

Yes, you can try, although I am not sure if they ship out certain parts to individuals. Have to cornered the problem, and found the faulty part? If not you may want to swap out the entire PCB in the handset. Not sure if Uniden supplies these boards to non service center entities, though..

How do i recharge my uniden phone battery

Phone's "Status Light" Not Illuminating or Battery Failing to Charge

  • 1.Check that the base unit's AC adapter is plugged into the both the base unit and electrical outlet firmly.

  • 2.Wipe the base unit's handset holder's connectors and the connectors on the bottom of the handset with a soft cloth/rag or pencil eraser to remove any loose dust and dirt from the metal connectors.

  • 3.Place the handset firmly in the base unit holder until the "Status Light" illuminates, indicating the battery is charging.
4.Replace your Uniden cordless phone's battery, by purchasing a compatible battery from an electronic supply store or directly from Uniden. Turn your phone's handset unit over and remove its battery door. Lift the phone's battery pack up and gently unplug the battery's wire connector by pressing in on the connector's side and pulling the connector free from the phone's circuit board. Battery installation is the reverse of removal.

DO you still carry the model #EXAI-7980

This site is not an electronics store. It only answers technical questions. You need to go on Amazon, e-bay, Radio Shack, or Wal-Mart if you want to buy another Uniden Phone.

Static on my pair of Uniden cordless phones (Model DECT1560)

Is your base near a computer or other electronics? Also, make sure your microwave is not on. I get static if I do any of those things.

We have a lot of static and loud buzzing on the phone

I had the same issue that started on some 3 year old 5.8 GHZ Uniden cordless phones. I moved it from room to room and same buzzing. I found a older Uniden set I had kept in a desk drawer. I swapped out the power transformer (power cord) and it is clear as a bell now.

Static from a wireless (plugs into the wall)intercom

There are a few possibilities that could be the cause. The fact that its only one unit malfunctioning most likely means it is some type of fault in the unit it self and not the connection. Have you swapped it with another unit to make sure its the unit itself? If so try these. The first and most simple is the easiest to fix. It may sound odd but dirt and other contaminants can cause a great deal of interference "static" when they get worked into the metal connectors that carry signals. If that is the case, I recommend that you unplug the device and use "electronics" contact cleaner on all the connectors and if possible the metal contacts themselves. If it is not a containment then it could be a loose connector blown speaker/mic or even a solder joint inside the device. If that is the case you may have to have it repaired.
    Hope this helps.

I have the Uniden DSS7955 + 2 - it it on the same line as my broadband computer line and am getting constant static. When I disconnect the broadband line, the static disappears. I had an older model Uniden...

You will need to get a DSL filter to separate the DSL(broadband) from the talk line. These can be purchased at any store that supports computers.

Our 5.8gh uniden phones all have static one land phone 3 extension.

disconnect the ac adapter from the base - before you plug the phone back in with power - press and hold down the menu button (center silver button under the led display) and the number "1" and then plug it back in - keep holding those two buttons until the date and time reappears - it worked for me and it didnt erase the phone numbers stored in the base unit.
