Question about Sebo Vacuums

2 Answers

It's an upright, model X4. The bag full or clogged light is lit. I've takent the thing apart and cleaned it out, and removed some clogs. But the light won't go out and when I run it, it stops after a minute or so. Also, the pedal for lowering the machine to use it has come off and I can't figure out how to reattach it.

I have the manual. It does not show how the pedal is reattached.

I have taken the entire machine apart and cleared everything that I can see and find -- all clogs, the bag, and filters. The light that says there is a clog still stays lit.

I have done what you suggest already, kevin000.

What is the right bag for sebo x4

  1. First, pull out the hose, turn the unit on, check for an obstruction in the hose. (unclog and obstruction)
  2. Separate the body from power nozzle. Check for obstruction in the air hole passage.
  3. Pull and clean both filters in the unit. The inside white long carriage and the exhaust filter located above indicator panel. (nozzle body)
  4. If this is not working. think about where and how dirt is carried or passes from the front floor nozzle or through the hose.Somewhere in the unit the it is clogged. The red light censers a full bag (we know that's not the issue) or an obstruction to the normal air flow.

  6. In closing: I've been selling and repairing vacuums for over 30 years. Of all the 5 major brands that I sell. Sebo is by far the, best product on the market.

How to fix squeaking and bag full sign lit on the sebo x4 extra upright vacuum?

Check the main "kitchen roll" filter isn't clogged which is on the left hand side of the bag when the bin door is opened. There could be a clog, either behind the pick out metal grid below the filter roll, or the roll filter requires to be replaced. Can you add more info about the squeaking though? Is it a high pitched squeal all of the time or just intermittent and where it seems to be coming from - it could be excess air escaping from a pierced hose or a drive belt issue.

Tear apart all hoses and make sure no clogging, also take apart to expose motor and make sure their is no dust on motor, this will cause symptoms you are describing, another thing check Impeller fan and make sure the fan is running and not blocked if fan is not working then will need to replace Impeller.

Light on for "full bag or clog." I changed bag,

Check the airflow tube behind the brush. This is a common place for clogs. The hose is more common, especially at elbows, like where it attaches to the tank. Another possibility is a dirty filter. Check this first to rule it out, then check the rest.

Have you checked the filters to see if they are blocked and need cleaning/replacing. Failing that it could be the sensor at fault.

Hello,

I have actually written an in depth trouble shooting guide on how to find the clog in your Sebo. Since this light is coming on only when you have the wand inserted into the vacuum and are vacuuming the floor, this indicates that your clog is in the bottom of the machine. The link below will explain exactly what you need to do to locate, and clear this clog.

This should be the exact fix your vacuum needs:

Full bag clog light

1.If your sebo is less than five years old, you have a reciept, and are not using it commercially, in most cases this machine will still be under factory warranty. To locate
an authorized sebo dealer simply call sebo or use the dealer locator on their website.

2. If it is no longer under warranty:
First i would pick up something small such as a balled up gum wrapper and make sure it makes it to the bag, more often than not something is not checked, and its still plugged. Heres how i'd check for plugs.
  • Pull the wand out and remove it from the hose by pressing the button on the wand look through the wand
  • Remove the hose from the machine by pinching the hose clamp and pulling the hose out (it simply presses back in when you are done)
  • press on the large button below the bag compartment on the front. (its often a different color and presses difficultly) lift the bag compartment and handle off the powerhead. (replace by simply pressing the bag compartment back onto the head)
  • look down the powerhead and inspect the other areas of the bag compartment.
  • open the orange/gray door on the bottom of the powerhead and look through checking for debris.
Simply go back up through the steps to reassemble.

If your test makes it into the bag just fine and you are not plugged, the tall filter inside the bag compartment would be my next suggestion and since you changed this it should not be a problem. This leaves few possible problems. Circut board error/Sensor error would be my next step. Essentally its one in the same, but there is no great way to test them without simply replacing parts. (an expensive proposition) The local sebo dealer will more than likely have a working used board they pop in and out to check for problems. Some dealers may let you use these others will require you either buy the parts or pay for labor.

*Bad boards in sebo/windsor products are extremely rare, my bet is always on a plugged filter or plug in general. Be sure to look carefully something as small as a toothpick surrounded by carpet fuzz can set them off.

Best of Luck

Model 116 hose clog?
Posted by rfrazelle on Jun 23, 2008
My old canister model 116 followed with numbers 2839580 marked Kenmore 3.9 with power-mate, worked fine until the bag got overly full. I have changed the bag, cleaned the filter, and removed a nasty hair/fur/dust clog :-p from the lower metal tube of the power mate. It now has very weak suction and won't pick up anything. I suspect a clog in the grey plastic flexible tubing attached to the canister but cannot get it apart. Advice?
RJ

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Kenmore 22313 Bagged Canister Vacuum. The best way to find a clog in an electric hose is to use a steel ball or a large marble to place inside the hose and to let it so threw as far as it can to determine where the hose clog is. Once you have determined where the hose clog is then you can use a small end of a broom handle of take an old wire coat hanger and place a hook on the end and try to pull the clog out of the electric hose – the electric hose is very expensive so try not to damage the hose in any way, shape or form. Or another way is that id you have another canister vacuum you can try to pull the clog apart by using two vacuums turned on and running. If you are successful then run the round marble or steel ball thru the hose again and the clog should be cleared.

Check the hose for a clog, also check the dirt inlet by the brush roll, it may have a clog also.
