Question about Pioneer DEH-P3500 CD Player

2 Answers

Frmtread error his happens only with mp3 cds. The radio and regular cd's work fine. So I thought the lens needed cleaning but still the same. After the third cleaning it played fine. Couple cd's later it started again and this time cleaned it four times but still static when I play my mp3 cds. Radio and regular cd's are fine. Also, an error "FRMTREAD" always comes on when I put any cd in. On a note...these mp3 cd's work fine in any other player.

Format Read Error. Usually a problem when disc was burned at wrong speed, or corrupted during burn. Some writing programs dont put an initial track on the CD designating it an audio disc. (sig. Data instead) Try other burning software. Nero has many Problems. FYI
Try burning @ slower speed next disc.

My Pioneer WMP/MP3 is saying frmtread error 11 What is this? Thanks Solve It!

Error 11 on your Pioneer DEH-P3500 CD Player shows that the CD inside cannot be read properly by the player. So please eject the disc and clean it properly. If the error is shown again then there is no way other than replacing the disc because it may be scratched severely.Hope you are satisfied with my solution.Your valuable feedback would be appreciated. Thanks for choosing Fixya.

I keep getting message 'Please Eject' most of the times when i insert the CD. It happens even with CDs just purchased or with CDs that work good for a number of times. Please help since I am not able to...

you may have either a dirty laser lens or a bad laser assembly. if you can remove the radio and take off the top you can clean the laser lens with a qtip and rubbing alcohol.. be very gentle while cleaning the lens. if you scratch it, it will need to be replaced.

Jvc kd-sx770 car stereo--radio works, but cd player doesn't

Hello beeswing70,

The player is recognizing that a CD has been inserted but is not able to read it.

Sometimes the lens assembly becomes contaminated and obscures the laser. I'd try using a commercial "lens cleaning CD" two or three times and then try a CD again. These lens cleaning CD's are widely available. If cleaning does not help, the player need professional service.

Hope this helps.

CD doesn't work. LED readout says FRMTREAD, error 12. ;what's happening?

If this error appears on any music CD (burned or store-bought), it's likely the laser/lens assembly is having trouble focusing well enough to read the disc. You can try resetting the unit (use a paperclip or ballpoint pen to press the button in the small hole next to the eject button), but there's only a small chance this will help. You could also take it to an electronic repair shop to see how much a cleaning would cost (usually more than the player).

If it only happens on burned discs, try changing brands of CD-Rs or even burning the disc at a slower speed. If the songs are burned from iTunes, try burning other formats (i.e. MP3) via a different method.

When I try to play a C.D. on my system it gives me the following information. FRMTREAD, Error 15. What does this mean and what do I do to correct this problem? My system is a DEH2000MP S.N....

Consult your owner's manual for error codes. You have a disk/disk reader problem. A similar model Pioneer Manual indicates FRMTREAD as what is displayed while reading a disk. Error 15 equates to "The inserted disk does not contain any data". If this occurs with multiple disks, try the disks in a known good cd player. If they work there, it is likely a reader problem (alignment, bad reader, etc.) which would likely not be worth repairing or replacing in that unit.

Alpine cda7998 disc error

Try cleaning the lens first, if you can take the top off and are able to see the lens, using a cotton swab soaked in 91% alcohol wet the lens, don't rub it, then blow it off with computer duster. Or try a cd based lens cleaner (Radio Shack).

Vmp508 verge cd player/in dash car stereo

Mine was doing the same thing for a while. I put in one of those special CDs that have little tiny brushes on them that are used to clean the laser. And after that it worked. It still does it every once in a while, but not very often. It seems to like mp3 discs more than regular CDs. But be sure to DISABLE MULTISESION when you burn your mp3s. Otherwise it will DEFINATELY give you the error 2 message.
