If you haven't already, you should turn it off for at least 30 seconds, and then power it up again. While it's off, make sure that the cable is securely connected to the proper jack.
Once power is restored to the modem, it will initialize itself and then try to establish its connection to the network. I don't know the specifics for this model, but it will probably have status lights that indicate its progress. They may start out amber and turn green, or go from off to flashing to solid green, but it will take several steps and a minute or so to get everything to green. There is probably also an activity light that will flash when data is being moved over the new connection.
If this fails, you'll probably have to call your cable provider to report the outage. A service call may be needed to determine if there's a cable problem or if your modem has failed. (Did it go out during a thunderstorm or power failure?)
