Re: Installing xp on acer aspire m1610
First you want a Windows Xp genuine CD and most of the drivers are built-in in Windows xp, also try to install windows xp with service pack 2 and after installation go the device manager and see how many device required drivers as you can see them with exclamation marks or question marks. go to google and download the device driver run it inside your pc also i recommend before you do got to device manager and indentify all your dirvers like VGA Sound and other devices

Hi, The acer aspire M5641 , usually ships with windows Vista. If you are planning to install windows Xp. You would have to source the windows xp cd. You cannot buy the XP cd from microsoft as windows xp is now and end of life operating system and not sold off the shelf. However if you already have the XP cd with you , you can use the same cd. Note hardware on your acer may not work , because of driver unavailability for XP operating system. However if your system was shipped with , refer to the following video links to guide through the reinstall process
generally change Vista to xp should meet driver lost, you may try to saerch from website,
1) key in your computer name and device name such as Acer Aspire m6110 audio driver or video driver on the google, fine out which to match yours, there some driver look like similar you need test each one see what matched.
2) you may try to use Acer aspire similar PC driver disk, possible to find the useful driver in it if you have some those disks, due to most Acer product use same device chips so the driver can compatible 100%
When installing a program, you are normally prompted with a default installation directory, if you want to install to a different location, you normally just change the drive letter/folder listed on the default install path, then the program installs to that location. Be advised, even if you install a program to D:, several files will still be written to C drive (Driver and registry files)
First you will need to boot up. When you do this you need to go into bios and then go to boot and disable the hard drive floppy and any other drivers. You must make sure you keep the cd driver as 'able', save setting and exit out of bios. This will let you reboot. After it`s done, the partition in the computer will reboot the computer. Make sure to go back into bios and able the hard drive, floppy etc... I had the same problem, and solved it this way.
