Have moved my Sky to another room. Cut existing sat cables and extended to new location. Can watch all stations OK. Can record OK. When recording I can't watch any other station. Any ideas what I've done wrong?

Originally used pre made "F" connector to "F" connector cables from B and Q.

Have changed above cables to the thicker black ones - same size as comes of sat dish.

This solved the problem - suspect attenuation problem by using inferior cables.

You need to try and isolate the piece of equipment which is causing the problem.

You've already tried the aerial lead direct to the TV and this is OK.

Disconnect all scart leads and try the RF on its own.

Try the Aerial lead to video, then video to TV.

Try aerial direct to Sky box, then to TV.

Try just connecting the RF out from the Sky box to the TV (no aerial input), can you tune into a good channel 68 picture from the Sky box.

Then Try the VCR to the Sky box (no aerial input), see if you can tune into the VCR and Sky channel.
Hope that helps.......

My sky tells me that i'm not receiving a signal

Check the Sat cable. If the cable is ok , then the antenna had been moved and lost its orientation.

The antenna must be moved until it reaches the right orientation, call Sky and ask them to send a technician to do the job, or do it yourself at your risk.

No sound

A DVI cable does not have an audio connection, along with the DVI you still have to run an audio line from the device (DVD player, cable box, satellite receiver) to the TV. HDMI contains both audio and video.

Good Day, 1bigmoney;
Try resetting the SAT box. To do this unplug box for 2 to 3 minutes then plug A/C cord back in outlet. If no fix have SAT. box replaced, after making sure all cables on BOX are secure.
Good Luck, big IRISH.

My solution was to return item to Argos, got my money back and will now go ahead and order a Sky Plus Box. Apparently these type of Recorder will not record Sky programs!!
