AOL has always been problematic since 1991, the best way for you to resolve your issue is to call AOL. I personally don’t understand why people still use AOL when you have DSL or Cable since DSL and Cable are the internet service then you pay on top of that to use AOL? It just seems like a great waste of money and trouble to me, for AOL is nearly impossible to get off your computer once it has been installed.

Can,t opem my e-mail page

Which email account ?
If you currently have an e-mail address or you're thinking about getting one, you need to know how to access your account to check your messages.

Open a new browser and go to your e-mail provider's website.
To ensure that you navigate to the proper site, type your e-mail provider's URL (or website address) into the address bar at the top of the page.

Locate the "Mail" icon on the homepage.
Click on that mail icon and you will be directed to the appropriate sign-in page to access your e-mail inbox.

Provide your correct login details.
You will need to type your username/ID and password into the appropriate boxes and click the button that says "Sign In."

Click on the link that says "Inbox."
Once you click on the inbox link, you will have access to all of your messages, both old and new e-mails.

The unread mail is usually in bold, which makes it easier to identify your new messages.
Simply click on the subject of that e-mail to read your message.

Since last night i have been unable to send any e-mails i have the free aol service

Have you unwittingly changed one of the settings regarding SMTP or other server settings on your Mail client, this would prevent you from sending mail.

If you can still recieve mail then this means that only the outgoing server is affected, so again check your SMTP configuration or phone AOL.

HI Azkinney,

I can help you it's not pretty but it works without downloading or buying any programs.

1- create an email with your aol interface
2- open your address book and add everyone
3- don't send the email but select the addresses you have in your "TO" field of the email you created
4- copy the selected addresses to a word processing program like word pad
5- save the new document as a .txt file
6- open this document with Microsoft excel
7- export the document with a CSV file format
8- outlook can import CSV files into the address book

You know its a lot of steps but its the simplest way I have found since AOL hates their customers using other emails and will be as much help as a canker sore on your nose.

I hope this helped. Please don't forget to rate the answer it helps me with my solutions.

I just got done setting up my windows mail and when i tried to send mail the error message reads..The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'hello', Account: 'Mail', Server: 'smtp.mail.yahoo.com',...

Since you have not signed up for Yahoo Mail Plus, they do not allow you to use another program to access your mail. They want you to use their WebMail Page so that they can serve you ads to pay for their service. They have an excellent Email Web Page, so it's a small price to pay.

But if you really need POP access and don't want to pay to get it, you could consider using Gmail. They allow POP access for free. Just setup a new Gmail account and go into the settings on the Gmail Webpage. From there, you can enable POP access. Be sure to write down the server information you will need to enter into your Email Program.

Good Luck with whatever choice you make!

I have been using windows live mail for several months for two email accounts. My hotmail account works fine but for my second westnet account (www.westnet.com.au) i am able to recieve email but unable to...

G'day,

All of the documentation on the westnet.com.au site shows that your "Outgoing mail server" should be set to "mail.westnet.com.au", not "mail.wn.com.au". Please check both of your accounts in Windows Live.

If this doesn't fix your proble, could you please repost the settings for your two accounts so that I can compare them?

AOL e-Mail error reads: An error occured while loading a file. AOL will attempt to restore the file. My New, Old, Send shows only Icons with no text or seder information. Can not download, send reply...

1) Reinstall the AOL software, available here

2) If that doesn't help, you need to check your hard drive for errors:

Close any open programs.
Open My Computer, right click on your hard drive (probably C:)
Click Properties. Choose Tools, then Error Check, Check now. Select both checkboxes and press Start.

The computer may prompt you to reboot, let it do that.

This should resolve the issue.

They should be in your address book as always. It shouldn't have changed. Try to write an email and see if your address book icon shows up on the right sige of the email. You can also go to the toolbar at the top and under mail it will have address book. If this isn't what you're looking for let me know. I've had AOL since they were a baby. If this solves your problem please rate this as fixed. If not, please don't rate yet. Add a comment explaining your problem a little further and I'll be more than happy to help you out. You reached the right guy for AOL problems. Thanks. Let me know how it goes and if you need more help.
