Belt keeps coming off my candy ce104 - Washing Machines

Thanks DickyIV1, it appears to be a new belt and very hard to get back on but you can see when you manually turn the drum that it's just working it's way off. It appears that the drum and the thing it also attaches to aren't in line anymore ?

would this mean new bearings ?

Hi,
If the belt is old it might have stretched or be wearing out. The cheapest solution would be to try a new one first before anything else.

If the drum bearings are worn then it might be wobbling around and that could be throwing it off.

Hope this helps. If so,I'd appreciate a rating for my solution. If it doesn't, feel free to add a comment with extra info and I'll try to think of something else.

Thanks, D

    Hi.

If the two wheels that the belt turns on are not aligned any more, yes it's bound to fall off ! So we need to figure out which has moved. But first of all, does the belt have grooves in it on the inside? If so, the pulley on the motor will also have grooves, probably more than on the belt, so you can choose the "best" set of grooves to line up with the big wheel on the drum.

Failing that, with the belt off, you could check by hand to find out if the rotating drum will move forwards and backwards inside the fixed drum, by which I mean will the inner drum move towards and away from the loading door? If so, then the drum bearing must be suspect.

Also check the pulley on the drive motor to find out if that will slide along its shaft. It's got to be one or the other.

I'm assuming that the machine used to work OK and only developed this fault recently.

Let me know what you find. Thanks, D

Yes, unfortunately error controls in digital controls are not setup to help the do-it-yourselfer. They are however set up to promote their own industry.

Hi, got a new belt for my candy CM1 166/1 washing machine but it keeps coming off , its the correct belt , the pulley wheel does not have any play and hardly any on motor wheel either ,belt keeps going...

If the belt is coming off the pullies my be out of line .you need to put a straight edge across the two pullies to make sure they are level . And check there's enough tension on the belt .

Do you know the size of the belt that spins the drum for a candy washer dryer aq130

Hi,
Quick answer-
From whichever spares company you are purchasing your replacement belt should know if you tell them the make and model number and they should supply the correct one ;-0)
(I'm doubtful, now, of wishing you 'good luck' but I will!)
Good luck,

Drum paddles have come off

Sorry but the only answer to this is a new drum, possibly from the metal pile at the dump, or ask your local appliance guy if he keeps a parts pile out back, many do! Lastly is the terrible "New" drum. They are very easy to exchange. Take the front panel off the machine after unplugging it of course, and remove the two wire connectors from the door switch. It doesn't matter how you put them back on, it's just a loop switch. With the machine lying on it's back take a good look at the belt routing in particular at the bottom right hand corner and remember how it is wound around the drive wheel and the tensioner. then just remove the belt and slide the drum straight up and out. Also keep in mind which side of the belt goes against the drum(one side is ribbed). Take a few pix if you need, that always helped me. Thanks, Dana
