Question about PC Desktops

1 Answer

No pain, no drainage, no itching, swelling or redness. For 2 days now I've had in my left eye, a "shadowing". Kind of like looking through a foggy or dewy window, it's in the bottom part of my visual field and my periperal field is affected as well. My right eye is fine.

Bad knee can hardly work quite painful

You should seek qualified medical attention regarding an injury or issue with your knee. A proper diagnosis can not be made except in person by a qualified medical professional. Its very possible that something has happened that could become permanent if not found and treated properly.

What is the error message? The CPUs will not overclock on there own, that requires configuration. Some components when not installed properly with cause the computer to boot to a black screen and the fan to speed up dramatically. I've seen memory sticks and display port cables cause this. Check all your hardware and make sure everything is seated properly.

It sounds like you are not logging off first. Press 0 CLK# to log off then log a new person on eg 3 CLK# for Jane.

Can't get my micro drive light to go off on my computer

You could try going into the Device Manager in the Control Panel and disable the Micro Drive then enable it again.

You could try downloading and reinstalling the Drivers.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "eMachines Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Download and install the Card Reader drivers.

If it's not something that you really use you could go inside the computer and just unplug the connections to it.

I would doubt that it is making your system go slow. You've got a virus or infection. Download and install MalwareBytes and run a Quick Scan.

Go to www.google.com and in the search box type: "Download cnet Malwarebytes" (without the quotes). Download and install malwarebytes from the sites download.cnet/malwarebytes. When the site opens up click on the Green Download button on the left. Do not click the Red Download button, that's junk. When it finishes installing the Gui Interface will open up with an offer to Accept a Trial Version or Decline. CLICK DECLINE you want the totally free version. Run a QUICK SCAN. As it scans, if it finds infections the number will be in red. When it finishes scanning, click SHOW RESULTS. A notepad text document will open up showing you the results. You can close the text document and go back to the Gui Interface where you will click REMOVE SELECTED RESULTS. The objects will already be selected for you. When it finishes removing the objects click ok and it will sometimes reboot your machine.

My desktop is working very slow

You've got infections. If your system is running slow it might have avirus and most definitely if you've got Norton or McAfee on it, you can almostbet they've let something in.

Now, let's clean your system up a bit.

Click Start/Programs and look for the RUN command. You might see it anywhereonce you click Programs, or it might be inside the Accessories folder. Click RUN and when it opens up type "msconfig.exe" (without thequotes) then hit ok.

When the System Configuration window opens click the Startup tab. In theStartup Tab we are only concerned with 2 columns, the first column which is theStartup Items and the column that says Command. You can put your mouse pointerbetween two column headings and it will turn into a +, then hold the left mousebutton and drag the column over to the right to expand it so you can readwhat's below it.

Now everything has a check mark beside it. This means that everytime youstart your computer, these items have to load and run. Most of the stuffis good, but there might be so viruses that are running also so we want toremove the check mark from them.

Start with the first time listed under the startup item column and look at itand look at the command for it. Most times you will see something underthe command such as Adobe, Yahoo, Dell, HP, etc. that you know are ok so go tothe next item. Also if you see something under the command like C:\ProgramFiles\.... then it's ok, also C:\Windows\System32\.... then it's ok.

If you see something that does not have anything under the Command column, remove the check mark, it's a virus that's trying to hide.
If you see something that says something like: dumprep 0 -k in the startup itemcolumn remove the check mark from it. Reboot your machine when you're done checking all items.

Hello. I was cleaning the dust out of my computer fans and somehow the little blue & white, and red & white cables came out of where the attach to the motherboard. I am looking for a diagram so...

Looking at the board with the SATA connectors to the right and the backplate to the left. Look to the lower right corner of the board. You will see a group of two rows of pins(9pins with one missing) The pin that is missing is pin#10. The pins are numbered even on the pin#10 side, odd on the other. The Power Switch - Pin 2 is the Red wire/white is Pin 4. The Power Led - Pin 6 is blue pin 8 is white.
Shhhh! Must be a Gateway Secret.

My emachine T3626 will not boot and when it tries it cuts of by itself.

Look for swelled capacitors on the motherboard to the left of the CPU block (should be 6 of them). The motherboard is most likely weak and needs to be replaced if you find swelled capacitors.
