Question about Panasonic Home Theater System System
Just got my Panasonic scpt760 out of the box. I turned it on and it made a strange noise for a while then told me "chgr error" It then would not let me do anything with the remote. The manual says turn it on and off and if problem does not fix itself contact the dealer. Any way to fix this?????
For panasonic sc-pt760, if the DVD player is busted, you can't access the option to switch to Digital in. With Digital in, you can still use the unit as a sound system by feeding it through the optical input from your TV.
but, the trick, You can't access the switch menu without an ipod. For some reason, you can switch from an Ipod to your D-in. You can't switch out of AM/FM to d-in as it tries to access the broken DVD first.

a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

This would indicate a CD/DVD Changer Error.
The system thinks there is a stuck disc or other wierd problem with the CD/DVD changer.
Unfortunately these issues are rather hard to fix, due to the way the changers work.
Opening these units isn't that hard, however fixing an issue with the changer is very difficult and is best left for a specialist.
You may need to contact a local Panasonic repairer to get this one fixed.
Use the link below (if you are in the US) and enter your model number and ZIP code to locate your nearest repairer.
Best of luck, and sorry that I could not be of much more help than this.

I wish I had a solution for you. Mine just did the same thing (it's only a year old). I called into Panasonic, and they very briskly told me all they could do was give me the number of a local repair man. I called them, and was told it would cost about $250 to fix it.

LOL if you just paid good honest hard earned cash for it i would certainly take it back. You might get a few freebies in the process. If you never broke it, Dont try and fix it because you will be held responsible for any damage they deem fit to blame you for.
