It didn't work. It actually looks a wave in the corner. You can see both the standard pic and the part that folds over. So in the corner you see double.

The problem is in vertical section ,if vertical synchronization is absent or critical but there is good horizontal sync, the problem is in the vertical integrator or in the vertical sweep circuits .Therefore the first step is to measure the waveform at the vertical integrator output. If the pulses are good at this point, the problem is in the vertical sweep circuits .If the pulses are abnormal at the input to the vertical sweep ,the problem is probably in the integrator.
When measuring vertical pulses (sweep rate at 30 Hz)after the vertical integrator ,there should be no horizontal pulses present (since the vertical integrator acts as a low -pass filter) However ,when checking vertical pulses ahead of the integrator ,the horizontal pulses may appear on the oscilloscope display. When the oscilloscope is set to measure horizontal pulses (set at 7875Hz)the vertical sync pulses should not appear since they are slow in relation to the horizontal sync pulse frequency.
When measuring ahead of the vertical integrator ,which is the last point common to both horizontal and vertical sync look for any noise or video signal that may haved leaked through .With improper biased ,the undersired noise and video may not be remove by the normal clipping or limiting action.Of course ,improper bias should show up as an abnormal voltage .
When measuring the output of the vertical integrator ,look for a kickback voltage from vertical sweep circuit .The vertical oscillator uses feedback between secondary windings is reflected back to the primary and possibly into the sync separator circuits .The purpose of the diodes is to prevent the kickback from entering the sync circuits. This how to troubleshoot vertical fold over ,checked for the leaky filter or coupling capacitor, change value resistor or open and shorted transistor.

Hi

The vertical ic is not defective! the vertical ramp or vertical osc. is the defective... but the problem is in vertical section only! if you are technician try to located the vertical ramp resistor 10K or 20K thats connect to Jungle system IC. 10K or 20K is open resistor thats why you have abnormal vertical ramp and vertical osc.. NO OTHER.......

Thank you!!!

Hello,

If you can do it by yourself the better, but in most cases problems like this the expert repairman is the most favorable to resolve the issue.

Try to find out the projection adustment inside to resolve, however some cases also porjection regulator that filter the video malfunction this was cause by low voltage in the horizontal and vertical projection. try to test the regulator and the capacitor and then the projection adjustment inside.

may this help,

Hi,

To my knowledge, the concern you posted is indicative of a capacitor or some other component in the vertical section about to fail and is normally called a vertical foldover.

Corrective measures would require opening the set, visually and electronically checking the components with emphasis on the vertical section. This of course would require a fair familiarity with electronic components and circuitry, use of a DVM and a soldering iron. it would be to your added advantage access to a service manual or at the very least a schematic diagram with voltage readings.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Below image is for another model but the yellow dotted lines encircles the vertical IC for this model. That should give you a fair idea of what and where to look for. Incidentally, as I posted earlier, it is very possible that it is a capacitor that has dried up, blistered or leaked that may be the culprit. In some instances, it is also possible to simply have a cold solder.

This problem can also be due to the Vertical Ics

have you checked them??

did you try a hard reset?

Mitsubishi VS-55609 distorted Picture Flickers

Projection TV sets are known to have two common problems. The first problem that is common to these sets is convergence failure. When this happens the TV will usually look 3D, Wavy/Distorted, etc. It may also shutdown and blink an error code.

The second common problem with Projection TV sets is dull video, halos around objects, white looking video, or red overpowers the screen. This is commonly caused by the fluid in the lens being clouded overs. To get fixed either call in a local TV repair company or goto sites such as Tv Repair Kits to get a repair kit with instructions. Here is there link.

They have put together complete kits for most models that include the parts, step by step photo instructions, repair assistance, etc.

This is a convergence problem and not really a DIY Many amateurs try it to save money but end up spending more on it than a professional. There are dozens on here that managed to fix it for a day or two only to have it fail again.

cost of fix about $300.
