Question about Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7 Digital Camera
When I turn on the camera, the lens will not extend. there are five beeps and the message"remove lens cap and press>button" appears. Pressing the button does not solve the problem.
Please help, I will pay you.
Has the camera been bumped recently?
This could cause one or more lens elements to shift slightly out of position and thus prevent the lens from extending.
You can check inside the lens, and try to shift the lens elements back into position by bumping the camera the other way. I have read some people were actually successful at this.
(Don't bump it too hard).
If the lens still doesn't extend, then there are still some options:
1. Take or send the camera to a service center to get fixed. This will likely be over $100.
2. Get a new camera, there are better ones out there and for close the same price as having this one fixed.
