I have the wireless router and have hooked it up. I have no cd rom or any program that came with it currently but it was installed and functional before, my ex did it. I need to know how to get it...

You will need to reset this back to factory default.
You can do this by holding the reset button on the back of the device (it can be very small hole where you would need a paper clip).
Once reset you should see a new wireless network available without any security enabled which you should be able to connect with.

I do not have the driver for my ROUTER NEXXTECH N4ROUTER can I get it on line? please :)

I don't have direct experience with Nexxtech routers, but every other brand I've ever worked with did not require a driver. Perhaps you mean the software that came with the unit? That software would give you a wizard that would walk you through configuring the router, but is not necessary. You can configure the router through it's web interface.

With a computer connected to the router via an ethernet/network cable, open a browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc.) and go to That should bring up the web interface, where you can configure it.

I would suggest you port forward port 113 (IDENT) port from your router to your computer. You'll need to look up instructions on how to do this, as all routers are different.

in mIRC type /identd on <some IDENT ID here>
in the above command, notice the word is IDENTD not IDENT
then try reconnect. The <some IDENT ID here> will show up in a whois as <your nickname>!<some IDENTD ID here>@<your isp>

Looking at your output that you've pasted, I'm also assuming you're using the mIRC IRC client.

Does this router have a built in firewall? I received the scan key equipment and installation disk from Shoppers Hotline and was talking with their tech support due to the fact that everytime the program...

Yes, this router have inbuilt firewall to enable the settings follow the below steps
You will need to get the IP address from your computer that you want to open ports to.

Step 1 Open your web browser and enter the IP address of your Nexxtech router ( Enter username (admin) and your password (blank by default).

Step 2 Click on the Advanced tab at the top and then click Firewall on the left side.

Step 3 Click on Enabled and type in a name for the new rule.

Step 4 Choose WAN as the Source and enter a range of IP addresses out on the Internet that you would like this rule applied to. If you would like this rule to allow all Internet users to be able to access these ports, then put an Asterisk in the first box and leave the second box empty.

Step 5 Select LAN as the Destination and enter the IP address of the computer on your local network that you want to allow the incoming service to. This will not work with a range of IP addresses.

Step 6 Enter the port or range of ports that are required to be open for the incoming service.

Step 7 Select Always for the Schedule or specify a range of Day and time that you would like this rule to be active.

Step 8 Click Apply and then click Continue.

Because our routers use NAT (Network Address Translation), you can only open a specific port to one computer at a time. For example: If you have 2 web servers on your network, you cannot open port 80 to both computers. You will need to configure 1 of the web servers to use port 81. Now you can open port 80 to the first computer and then open port 81 to the other computer.

How to set up a Nexxtech wired router?

Hi, manny_khera This could be a bit complicated...or not? First we'd need to know the make and model of your comcast modem as it may be a "modem/router" if so, it will need to be set to bride mode before your new router can work properly - to avoid "double natting" (both devices attemting to preform the same fucntion - network address translation.)
