Question about JVC RX-9010V Receiver
OK, after 25 years of working in the pro-audio industry, I've finally met a piece of gear I couldn't figure out on my own. Maybe one of you guys can help.
My buddy bought the above mentioned receiver used, and asked me to help him with setup. I said sure, but it will cost you breakfast. (but I digress.... or digest).
The manual implies that the digital inputs (optical and coax) can be assigned to the source buttons on the front panel. Having read the page in the manual over and over, I just don't get it.
My buddy's source devices are as follows:
1: DirecTV HD DVR with optical out
2: HD DVD player with coax out.
3: Combo DVD/VHS Recorder-Player with optical out.
I assumed (erroniously, it appers) that the digital inputs on the back of the receiver could be freely assigned to the source select front panel buttons.
Can one of you guys help me understand this receiver better?
Just to the left of the volume is a "settings" button. Press it and cycle through the options until you reach "Digital Coax," then use the "Control" up and down buttons to change the assigned source.
