I would start by cleaning the fan, vents and heatsink. Use a can of compressed air. You may have to open the Laptop to clean thoroughly with the air and a light brush, use ESD protection as well. . Improve air flow from the bottom of the laptop and the side vents, a Laptop Cooler is a option. Hopefully you haven't done damage to vital components due to overheating. Unplug, remove battery, leave battery out, plug in, try to reboot.
Has the fan, heatsink, and vents been cleaned? Is it overheating due to in- sufficent air flow? Clean, may have to open to get to the heatsink, improve air flow. A laptop cooler is one option. Overheating will kill computer components. Post results.

The DV9000 laptop from HP is notorious for overheating and dying due to improper ventilation and you need a laptop cooler no matter what else you do. Otherwise your laptop could simply overheat and the solder will separate.
