Press ctrl+shift+esc keys on the extreme left at the same time then on windows task manager click new task and type explorer.exe. or you might have too many items on your start menu and it is running out of space in that case you can create a new user account.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

T61 won't go past the Microsoft loading screen

Press F8 during boot, and load Safe Mode. A program may be preventing a proper startup.

Try disabling startup programs. Go to Start > Run (search in Win 7) and type MSConfig > Startup tab and uncheck anything that you don't want Windows to load automatically. It will make Windows boot faster and use less resources while running.

This just disables them in startup. Programs will still load, but when you initiate.

Laptop won' boot up.

The blue screen means the system is experiencing a fatal error... a error from which it cant recover.... so while booting press f8 and boot using safe mode... then analyse the startup programs of your system using Start->Run and then typing msconfig in the window that appears and then going to the startup tab... one of your latest installed program might be misfunctioning....
