This is happening all the time, your maytag is really a whirlpool! They are playing the name game, they buy names so when your maytag dies at 2 years you go buy a whirlpool or a amana, or a kitchen aid or frigedare or kenmore and guess what they are all whirlpools inside. Bad business, I can only suggest you buy a GE or Fisher & paykel, I have had great luck with both brands as far as customer service and performance goes.
I'm an knowledgeable owner and have helped many owners across 4 different forums save their $1K machine at reasonable cost. If you want to DIY I will help at this forum........ Google this ""FAV6800A/FAV9800A Outer Tub bearing replacement"" read thru the post and see if this is for you or someone that can help you DIY the work..............Good Luck dh1200s
