There are running line on the screen

Well you I brought a playstation3 and when the game is on there is aline that travels from the top to the bottom. Now we have been playing games on the TV for about two years and have never had this problem before. Everything is connected and you can see the game fine and hear it. I just want to know what to do next.

I have that same problem. I've only had the thing for less than a year. My brother says it's been doing that line thing since day 1.

I want to know what it is too! That was the first problem we had with the thing. Now we have another! Grrr

I also have black lines on my screen when PS3 is connected to the TV. My TV is an older model rear projection TV. Could you clarify what an AV cable set is?

    thanks

There is no way to fix it unless you get a A/V cable set for the PS3. HDMI isnt really a very good video + audio standard. the lines are just extra data that travels throgh the PS3 and ends up on your screen.

There is a vertical line of dead pixels on the right side of the screen.

If the line travels from the top of the screen to the bottom, try disconnecting the Tcon LVDS lead. The Tcon is located in the top middle of the LCD rear. Disconnect the LVDS from the Tcon by pushing in the outer lobes. Clean the contacts on the LVDs lead and reinsert. If this doesnt cure the fault, disconnect the ribbons from the Tcon connecting the LCD and clean and reinsert. If this doesnt cure the fault you have a faulty LCD.
If the vertical line doesnt travel from top to bottom of the LCD, the LCD is faulty (LCD matrix buffer).Hope this helps :)

Making a buzzing sound, and displaying horizontal lines

Contact Sony and tell them the problem. As long has youve had the playstation3 for under one year and have not touched the warranty seal at the side of the playstation then you can have your old playstation3 replaced.

You have a Convergence issue. The Convergence Ic and related circuits are bad and need to be replaced. After that is done you need to have a Complete Factory Convergence Alignment performed by a trained samsung tech.

Vertical red lines on screen

LCD correct?

There are 2 types of lines they may be showing, both requiring the replacement of the LCD Panel.

1. Delamination Lines- they are usually multiple vertical lines that do NOT flow from the top to bottom of the screen. Looks look water dripped down or something similar

2. Single/Multiple Vertical lines - This is normally 1 or maybe a few solid vertical lines that travel from Top to bottom. I belive in some cases they may only travel to the screen center.

In both cases, this will always show when the TV is ON. Even if there is no signal being input to the TV. There are other possibilities but these can be the most common. Both require a new panel.

Top Screen on DS only shows lines

I take it the item is a ds Phat??

Problem is the same if its a Lite just a different part.

DS Phat - you need the screen cable that runs between the bottom board and the top connsctor board.

DS Lite, the screen and cable are all in one, so you need a new top screen

Do you mean the touch screen?
Have you tried the alignment procedure?

Remove any cartridges and go into the setup by pressing the small icon at the bottom center of the screen when you first turn on the ds.
Press the yellow square (alignment) and follow the instructions.
