You can open up label templates in Word or other word processors. For Word, you can find these on Microsoft's website for free generally.
If you are using Avery labels, they have their own label software package custom designed for their products here: http://www.avery.com/avery/en_us/Templates-%26-Software/Software/Avery-Wizard-for-Microsoft-Office.htm
The printer uses thermal direct labels, kind of like fax paper, where no ribbon has to be used.
That said, contact Avery Dennison, the people who purchased Paxar, and tell them that you need supplies for this printer. Their number is 1-800-543-6650. They can help you from there.
To buy a Paxar Monarch 9855 you can buy it to the nearest appliance center or any electronic center in your place. If you can not see that in your place you can buy it through online. Visit and inquire it in ebay or amazon website.
Your 287 error has to do with an incorrect setting for printhead width, and in the control language that your software is sending to the printer, they either have something other than 0, or there is an invalid character like a carriage return or line feed being sent to the printer.
This is a difficult one to trace since the software sends the code and you cannot necessarily change what is being sent.
Please note that the software that you really should be using is PC Mate Plus, as this is a specialized printer for Paxar supplies called Care Labels. You may be able to cheat if your software allows you to select 300DPI print heads. If not, you'll need the software I suggest.
If you do not have this software, please contact Paxar (now Avery Dennison) at 1-800-543-6650 and ask to be connected to someone in technical support or if the customer service rep can offer you a link to a website for software download, or purchase.
