We recently bought two hp webcams, one for us and one for our son in Texas. There are no instructions with either webcam only the CD to install - no information at all on how to use the webcam or what to connect to. We are very frustrated and ready to take it back and get a different brand that has instructions!

You need to use a webcam service, and fortunately most all of them are free. To send recorded video messages to each other when you are not online at the same time try mailVU.com. It will allow 10 minute recording for free, and even has a self-destruct feature if you are concerned about privacy. To video chat live both you and your son will need to download the same client. I'd recommend Skype, but MSN, Yahoo, and Google all have free services as well. Once you and your son download their free software client you can video call each other when you are online at the same time.

Plug in your device and insert the installation CD of the webcam. Then install the software and now your webcam will be recognised by your computer. Read the manual for the proper usage of the device and then start using it.

I recently bought a webcam from 'computer gear' and its telling me i need the installation CD to download the software. i the webcam wont work without it, however IS working, because once plugged...

if you bought a webcam..there must be a small CD for the webcam driver.
if there is a hardware ..it needs driver to perform its work.
if you dont have webcam drivers CD ask the vendor.

Hp Pro webcam will not work.

Follow the instructions below and it will work.

Disconnect the Camera from the USB port and reinstall the CD or Downloaded software program.

When the program asks you to connect the camera to the USB port, do so and it should work.

Then to use it on the Web, do this.
Web Camera’s have to be setup on the program they are to be used with. Just installing the
camera on your computer does not set it up to broadcast on messengers or Skype.

Each program has Options that have to be setup in order for the Audio and Video to function properly.

I can't intall CD for my webcam.

Just click on continue when is says its not Digitally Signed, Follow these instructions, Normal 0 Try disconnecting the Camera from the USB port and reinstall the CD or Downloaded software program. When the program asks you to connect the camera to the USB port, do so and it should work.
