Question about Casio Exilim EX-Z750 Digital Camera
Light flashing red, but battery not charging
I read that if you connect a 9V battery (+ to +, - to -) to the NP-20 for 10 seconds, it will jump start the battery and provide just enough charge for the battery charger to recognize the battery. The problem is that the NP-20 battery becomes so low that the charger will not charge it. I also read that you can use 2 D size batteries if you don't have a 9V battery.
Just make this connection to the NP-20 battery, not while in the charger! Only connect it for about 10 seconds or so. Everyone who tried it was successful and the battery would charge when it was put back into the charger. There should be no need to buy a replacement battery.

I had the same problem with an EX-Z75. Casio Customer Service offered to send me a replacement battery? Seems like they may have been aware of a problem with this battery (NP-20)?

Dont bother to call casio - i just did based on this users solution post. Unless your camera is under the 1 year warranty they will make you buy a new battery. Casio was worthless in helping to solve my problem...

I have had the same problem, I called Casio and apparently there has ben a bad batch of batteries, they were very helpful, with the 2-year guarantee, I'm sure they will just send you a new one. The UK number is on the warranty information that came in the box.
Hop that helps?

I jus called the Casio Customer Service number 1-800-706-2534 and they offered me a new battery for free. My camera is less than one year old and I had the same problem with charger and the red flashing light. Don't let then tell you that you have tu buy a new battery. They tried they same with me and I called againg and somebody else offered me the free battery. Apparently there was a problem with this batteries and the company is well aware, therefore they should provide you with a new battery. Don't give up!

SOURCE: battery wont charge flashing red
Every rechargeable battery deteriorates thoughout it's life of usage. may be it's time to buy a new one. Sometimes the terminals on the battery get in touch with metal things and short the circuits within.

I found this while trying to solve my exact same problem.. It worked for me after about 7 times. Some other people on the site said it worked for them after 20 times. Good luck!
My NP 20 gave me the flashing red light of death and I got Casio to replace it. Then I had the same problem with my second NP 20 so I dug around for a way to fix it and I found the following advice on a site called FixYa. It worked instantly and I didn't risk ruining my battery.
I had the same problem as this.
what i did was...
i kept putting the battery on the charger then took it off as soon as the red light came on.
i did this about 6 times.
doing this puts a bit of charge in the battery each time before the charger starts to flash.
after the battery as got enough charge in it it can start to charge.
hope this helps.
