Question about Printers & Copiers

My HP 1210 will not print in black. The color cartridge works fine. Both are new cartridges. I have tried resetting the cartridges, cleaning the pins, and reloading the drivers but still no black. HELP!!

    I tried both of these ideas. As well as setting my computer clock back
    and pulling the printer CMOS battery. (This model doesn't have one.) I
    found out later that this model printer is hardwired to reject any non
    HP cartridges or any cartridge after their expiration date.

    After everything else failed, I used a tried and true method. I tossed
    it out a 4th floor window onto a concrete parking lot. Then went out
    & bought a Canon MP-470

Try a "hard restart", which simply means unplugging the power cord of the printer, and replugging it after one minute has passed. If that does not work, then rerun the CD used to install the printer. Both techniques reprogram the electronics, to a certain extent.
You can also visit the HP website which lists solutions to various printer problems. HP also has a tollfree number to call, in case you want to talk to a technician.

New HP 56 cartridge prints green


hello, are you sure its green, since this is a black in cart, only thing i can think of is machine not printing black , and the color ink cartridge is contaminated, this would be due to the docking area for the cartridge, on the left side of machine, there are 2 black rubber cups that the ink cartridges move over to seal. sometimes these cups have residual ink, which will contaminate the new inks. clean these black cups, and replace inks

Having problems printing after changing ink cartridges.......scanner and copier work fine.....when send the command to print from the computer...it pulls the paper and sounds like it's printing but just...


When the print cartridge contacts are dirty and the printer cannot detect/communicate with print cartridge.

Clean the contact points on the cartridges with a dry, lint-free cloth.

1. Open the top cover of the printer.

2. Remove the print cartridges.

3. Clean the copper-colored contact points on the cartridges with a damp, lint-free cloth.
Use a dry, lint-free cloth to remove moisture from the contacts.

5. Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

6. Close the top cover.

7. Try printing again.

If you still cant communicate try with new cartridge .

Color intensity= poor


Shake the cartridges well, it seems that they become dry, try to replace them and check again, go to driver there is setting makes u clean and test the nozzels which makes the color more rich and at the same time it check the state of the cartridges.

Q: Is your new cartridge one of these listed below?

Has your cartridge been sitting a while in the box, maybe in a warm spot? Some times even new cartridges dry out a little. Was your old cartridge low or completely gone? Just as a test, if you put it back in your printer does the old cartridge work? Any printer error messages? Can you print a test page or an alignment page for your black cartridge? These might be too many questions but here are some HP support links with some How To information for getting more answers. Check print cartridge error


Try pushing it gently using some pressure. I had the same problem and it got solved using a little push.

Cant print black or do black and white copies


He's not saying that the black cartridge won't print (which would warrant cleaning the heads, or messing with the cartridges) -- I have the same problem that MarkDan is having as well... no matter what you select as the output from any "Print" dialog window, the HP 21xx and 12xx series printers _always_ print in full color. You can choose Black and White, Greyscale, Color -- doesn't matter what you choose in the dialog boxes, it utterly ignores you, and will always print in color.
I have no idea why it does this, but it's eating a _ton_ of color ink for no good reason. I have searched all over the Web and on HP's site, but solution has been found.

I have a hp psc 1210 all in one,it is playing up with print outs, is it possible for me to replace the print head on this model Rick


HP printers use cartridges that ARE the print head. On occasion, the cartridge could be defective...especially if they are the remanufactured type. Try replacing your cartridge with a new HP cartridge.

My printer doesn't work


wel i think what you should do is try to disconnect the usb cable and make sure everything is well connected then try to insert the disk wich is the deskjet or try the left cartridge must not be correct so take it out and theninsert it againbut make sure you push the catridge in really firmlyuntil you hear a snap and make surem the hp logois facing towards you
