Compressor is not turning on - LG LSC121PMA Split System Air Conditioner

There is a start capacitor near the compressor that may be bad. If the capacitor tests OK then the compressor is locked up. A service man can try to get it going with a kicker capacitor but there is no guarantee that that will work.

It is possible that the A/C compressor is locked up and when the compressor clutch engages it stalls the engine. With the engine off, use your hand and attempt to turn the compressor shaft manually. You can do this because with the clutch disengaged, the outer pulley that the belt runs on is not connected to the center shaft of the compressor. Turn the inner portion of the compressor, not the outer ring where the belt is fastened. You can see what I am talking about if you examine the A/C compressor with the engine running and the A/C turned off. You will see that the belt is turning the outer section of the compressor, but the center shaft is not rotating. You should be able to turn the compressor manually, though it may be rather hard to do, If you cannot turn it by any means possible, then you have a bad A/C compressor and should replace it.

possible you have a bad low or high pressure switch on a/c system bad causing compressor not to engage, find switchs and jump across wires and see if compressor engages

Hot wire the compressor from battery and see if it turns on. If it does then there is fault in AC switch/relay/wires. If the compressor still not running then compressor coil is gone, fortunately it can be replaced easily and you need not change the whole compressor.

Inner rim is the compressor. If it wont turn youre compressor is bad.

have the a/c compressor checked, the a/c compressor might be locking up due to wear and bad bearings. one way to test is to try turning the compressor clutch while the ENGINE IS OFF, if the clutch is very hard to turn or won't turn at all by hand then the compressor is bad. the clutch is what turns the pully, the pully should spin freely, the compressor clutch is on the end of the compressor on the pully side.

What do you mean turns on. The light inside is on. Do you hear the compressor coming on. If you hear the compressor turning on and the fridge doesn't get cold, compressor might need freon. If compressor doesn't turn on, your timer is not working
