Perform the Hardware Test

A - Using the operating panel on the printer:
1. Keep the Menu button pressed until Maintenance appears on the display. Press Select.
2. Use the arrow buttons to scroll through the options until Self Test appears. Press Select. The printer should print a sheet of paper with colored bars (magenta, cyan and yellow) and one black bar.
3. If the printer fails to print, remove both cartridges and try the test again. It will feed the paper through and print a blank page.
4. If the test works with no cartridges in the printer, run it again with one cartridge at a time installed.

B - Using the Printer Control Program on the computer:
* Select Cartridges and then click Clean Nozzles.
Hope that helps........

First try to uninstall your priinter and then install it again after you change the catridges..Also make sure you dont have any other printers used parallely..pls try to add your printer through the control panel and then try it once again for taking colour print outs(make sure you select the proper settings in print tab)..your problem will be solved..thank you!!..

Color ink cartridge says empty i just filled it

When you put in a "new" cartrage the printer sens an electrical charge to the cartrage to set it up properly. So I would treat this as a new cartrage, rather than a refilled one. Go to the printer menu and re install the ink cartrage in question, it should recognise it and start the function as a new one, good luck

The printer doesn't recognize the new original HP color cartridge

There is a small spring that holds the ink cartridge in the ink holder. You will see it stick out from the right hand side of the ink holder where the ink cartridge slides in. If that spring isn't being held to the ink holder by two plastic tabs, (I.E. the plastic tabs are broken) the printer will never recognize the cartridge. If the printer is still under warranty I would contact HP or an authorized repair center for HP. Both the black and color ink holder has this spring. I know of no way to repair this kind of breakage.

Dell printer model# A940 50c error

Test your cartridges.

Remove the color ink cartridge then lower the cover of your printer. If the error message displays again, replace the black cartridge with a new one (or return the new one). Reinstall the color cartridge and remove the black ink cartridge then lower the cover. If the error message displays again, replace the color cartridge with a new color cartridge.
Note: My manual indicated that the printer might have detected a short circuit in a cartridge. I returned a month old black cartridge got a new one and my printer is working fine now. Good luck.

Ink cartridge light keeps blinking

you need to print only in black if that is all the ink you have, and also you need to remove the color cartridge as it still registers in the printer as able to be used, although it is empty or near so. Did you remove the tape over the print head fron the new ink cartridge? Do a print head alignment, or use the toolbox icon to tell the printer that you just replaced the cartridge. Some HP models chip the ink cartridges so even a refill wont register as a full tank and the printer wont print. chip needs to be reset (difficult) or just replaced with a new cartridge.

Colored Ink problem

Make sure you are using the correct cartridges for the Z35. They should be #26 (color) and #16 (black).

Make sure the contacts are clean where the cartridge connects to the printer electrically. A little alcohol wipe is good for this. Clean contacts on both the cartridge and the carrier in the printer.

Colored Ink problem

Make sure the printer settings are set properly to print in color on the PC. Even if there is a color cartridge, if the PC only tells it to print black ink it's not going to use the color cartridge.
