Question about Frigidaire Refrigerators

1 Answer

The hose on the water dispenser has popped out of the hole. There's no clamps or anything and there's not enough slack to pull more hose. I can push it back in with my finger, but as soon as I turn the water back on, it pops out again. How do I fix it?

I also had this problem. I could not get the hose to stay, so I found a flexible straw to extend the hose. Pushed the straw through the hole and trimmed it.

Water does not stop pouring from water/ice dispenser. Door-to-door GE Profile Refrigerator Model TFX22PPDACC. How to troubleshoot the problem? Or what part need to be replaced?

With the water running tube/pipe is cracked in between or its got loose from its fitting.First inspect the line for this problem. The tube from which water passes, one end is connected to the water valve at the back base of refrigerator. And then from valve two tube runs. One tube is for water dispenser and another tube is for ice chamber filling.Follow that tube from back of the refrigerator. The water dispenser tube That passes through the freezer door also. And the ice maker tube. That connects to the back of ice maker tray. The water fills in the tray.See if that tube is got loose and its not throwing water out instead of ice maker tray. Many a times this happens.--- May be you need to remove the ice maker to get exact location for tube setting and position.----------- But if tubes from water and ice dispenser sections are fitted properly and then there can be crack in the tube.------------But if tubes checked out ok then other possibility can be faulty water fill grommet.------- The grommet is cracked. And that is causing the leak.--------- Go to the back of the unit and remove the cover at the lower right of the unit. This is where the water line goes into your unit. Remove the water line at the solinoid that goes to your ice maker . This will allow you enough slack to remove the old water fill tube and replace it with the new one.
You need to push the white retainers in to release the tubeing from the solenoids.
------------
The part you need is called fill tube grommet. It has to be removed and replaced. The tube is connected to the grommet. Click this link below for more help:---http://technoanswers.blogspot.com/2011/06/how-to-remove-ice-maker-fill-tube-from.html
------------ The other possibility for this leak, is water valve. The water valve close and open. When its open, it lets water to the tube. When it closes it stops water. But if the valve is not closing then it will let the water to enter non stop, slowly --- slowly the inside tube getw over filled and then starts leaking.------------ The water valve is not required as per the problem. But if after doing all the repairing, still the same problem, noticed then water valve is required.Because is water valve is not closing properly, then it leaks some water, (drop by drop) and this can cause water to collect in the grommet and this gets formed into ice and the same leaking repeats.---------but at present dont buy water valve.Just keep an eye on this same problem.sometimes leaking will start after few days.In that case also replace water vale.------- Now for other parts, that are extension hose, icemaker tube and clamp.Out of this you will require clamps, sometimes while removing old tube the clamp gets cracked.you can buy this. The extension hose is required if the tube is getting short or actual hose is cracked in between.i dont think you will require extension hose at present. And for ice maker tube. This tube can also be cracked and cause leak.this tubes by time gets bit swollen and loose its grip. Its actually not required. But if you still replace it, that it will be good.--------so you can order clamp and icemaker tube with the grommet part.----------- The parts which you want to order, this is direct link for parts:-- 1. Dual Inlet Water Valve------------ (http://www.partselect.com/PS901314-GE-WR57X10051-Dual-Inlet-Water-Valve.htm)

GE GSS25JFMD side by side, the water does not always dispence.New filter and clean water line.Sometimes it works fine then just stops for a while, then just starts working????

My guess is that the water line is at the dispenser is freezing up.

GE had some problems with this had have a heater kit that sells for about $60 un-installed that usually resolves this problem. This heater is an after market fix and has to be hard wired/spliced into other wiring of the dispenser. As a technician I never liked installing these and would advise against a DIYer from doing it.

However, if you chose to do so the heater kit does come with complete instructions.

I would also recommend that you ensure that the water line freezing is the problem. You can do this by the following.

When it does not dispense water follow these steps.
1st-- Remove the toe kick at the bottom of the ref.
2nd-- You will find a plastic water line coming from the hinge of the freezer and it goes through a hole. Pull on this hose pulling the line through this hole where you should find a coupler. You want to take the hose apart at this coupler.
3rd-- To do this the coupler works like a Chinesse finger cuff (sorry, but that's the only way I know how to describe it). You want to push the water line in a little and hold the white plastic lip/sleve and then pull the hose out.
4th-- Once this is done. Press the disp. lever as if you were getting water. If water comes out of disconnected hose then it is safe to say that the water line if frozen at disp. If water does not come out then there is something more going on.
5th-- To reconnect the hose to the coupler just push. Then give a slight tug to ensure its locked in there. Press disp. lever to check for leaks

How do I replace the water dispenser tube for a Kenmore Coldspot model # 106.53769201. The end of the line disintegrated at the spot where you put your glass under the dispenser.

Hello,

Ice makers and water dispensers are convenient to have on your refrigerator, but can also cause a lot of aggravation if they are not functioning properly.

If your water valves are not defective and you are still experiencing water or ice delays, you may have a clog in your refrigerator hose line.
Instructions and material needed to fix it up.

  • Towel,Flathead screwdriver,New water hose
  1. Turn off the water supply to the refrigerator and place a towel under the line to soak up any residual water that leaks from the hose when you remove it. Unplug the refrigerator.
  2. Disconnect the hose from the back of the refrigerator by pushing in on the collar while pulling the water tube out. If you have a model with an ice and water dispenser, you will need to disassemble the dispenser on the front of the freezer in order to completely remove the water hose.
  3. Remove the water drip tray from beneath the ice/water dispenser and locate the screws at the bottom of the cover (if any). Remove screws and pop off the panel that houses the dispenser. If the unit does not have screws, you will need to pry the cover off with a flat-nosed screwdriver.
  4. Once the cover is removed, you should be able to see the screws that hold the dispenser unit in place. Remove these screws and reposition the unit so you can free the water hose, by pulling it through the dispenser.
  5. Thread the new water line through the freezer door and reassemble dispenser unit. Push the new water hose into the fitting on the back panel, making sure it is properly seated. Turn on water supply and check for any leaks before moving the refrigerator unit back against the wall.
Good Luck and thanks for using fixya.

KSCS25FJSS01 - The water dispenser line from the solenoid is cracked about 18 inches from the solenoid, before it enters the back of the fridge. It seems easy enough to fix as long as i can get some 5/16...

Good day,
The line runs from the solenoid, into the fresh food compartment where a cooling tank is located behind the crispers, where it is precooled so your dispenser doesn't feed you warm water.
It then comes back out and travels to the door.

REPLACING FRIGIDAIRE FRS26H7C ACTUATOR

darlenek,
There is a trick of sorts. If you go to the bottom hinge of the freezer door you will find the same tube. Pull carefully and give yourself as much excess tubing to pull up through the door. Do not pull too hard or too much. This will give you more slack on the top end to work with. Once you get it reinstalled in the hole in the bracket, you probably will need to pull "carefully" back down through hinge to reinstall the dispenser bracket assembly.
I hope this helped you.
Please don't for get to rate me if I have helped.

Water dispenser lever on Frigidaire

My Frigidaire side by side is a little different from tech17's solution. It has no slots for a screwdriver to pry it off. It is a model FLSC23F6D55 manufactured 3/05. There is a semicircular spill tray in the bottom of the recessed water station. Just pry out the tray, from the bottom corner of the frame from the side and or bottom. (I did this with a knife blade.) This tray is a snap-in fit. Then you will see three phillips head screws in the bottom of the frame. Take out these three screws and remove the frame by lifting up on it and pulling out at the bottom. Then take out three more phillips mounting screws to remove the processor card and key pad. You will then see the top of the water lever mounting. The lever comes out by removing two more screws that hold the pivot shaft of the lever. (These last screws are a little more diffiucult to get to, but not anywhere near impossible.) I wish you well.
