I have my ps3 plugged in but powered off so just a red light is on.i push power button light turns green I hear fan come on and everything sounds normal but it has no picture at takes cd no pro

Rudy, are you connecting to the TV with HDMI, or RCA cords? HDMI carries both picture and sound thru 1 cord, whereas RCA splits it to YELLOW RED and WHITE. The HDMI connection is automatically detected when connected to your TV. It will say"HDMI is detected, do you want to use these settings?" RCA is not automatic, and is prone for the video(YELLOW) cord to develope a bad connection. I wouls duggest first replacing the cord. They are inexpencive, and the fastest way to check your issue. I am going to include a link to a youtube video that will guide you through the steps on how to reset your video settings on your system.

Sound problems for ps3

Usually when this happens, it is a connection between the system and the tv. Do a physical check of the whole cord and see if you feel any breaks in either the red or the white wires. If these seem fine, then it could be the connection INTO the system. Just clean it, and the cord input, with some alcohol. Make sure the system is unplugged first. ^^ And give it a couple minutes to dry. Reconnect and you should have sound. If these don't work, try a new cord, as they are really cheap parts for the system.PlayStation x, PS one, PS2, and the PS3 all use the same plug and cords for the A/V. Good luck.

The console turns on but no picture appears

Well it might be the expansion pack then I tried a new expansion pack for my 14 Yearold N64 and it worked again or the gamepacks might be dirty because my super nintendo sometimes shows a black screen so when I cleaned my gamepacks out it was fine then.

have you tried pulling all other scart connections out of the TV, and putting the X box scart in the very top one. I know it sounds weird, but ive heard it works, something to do with the other appliances taking away the picture. Worth a go.
Hope this helps
