Kenwood KDC-119 car stereo problem

The CD started to eject, but didn't come all the way out. I pushed it back in and now it's stuck. The player thinks it's in as the "in" light is on and the radio won't play (even though the radio settings show on the face instead of the CD settings). The unit will turn off and on and the radio settings show, but the radio won't play and the CD won't play or eject.

There is a small hole at the bottom of the stereo face that will reset the system. I pushed a pen tip into the hole and it turned the stereo off. When I removed the pen, the system turned on and the CD ejected. Problem solved.

Sometimes, if you unplug the main radio harness out from the back of the radio-leave it unplugged for about a minute you can reset the electronics that are now locked up- after you plug the harness back in you shoud hear the cd mechanism moving- now press the eject button- if there is no mechanical problem the cd will eject. If it won't you can email me at merle840@aol.com or call me at (908)756-3544 if this helps you please give me a good rating

I have a Kenwood KDC 135 car stereo wont un mute.

behind the face plate there is a little recessed reset button. push it using the tip of a pen or similar. that will fully reset the radio to like it was when you bought it.

Some times head units hicup. this is how you reset it. In most error cases this solves the problem.

We just bought a new cd and it's stuck in the car stereo

Hi there,
If you like you can read throuh the manual for further help if this fails,
at this address :
http://www.cartoys.com/cartoy/pdfs/kdc-122s_manual.pdf

However the units have a forcible eject mode, im raking my brain for it but i think 90%  sure its as follows...
Try pressing and holding eject and the power button at the same time for about three to five seconds, the machine shoudl buzz louder then normal an do a full eject cycle for about 2 seconds,
If worse comes to worse you can take off the outer casing  four screws (if not under warranty) and carefully lift the disc slightly and slide it out. Take care to to force anything as you can damage/scratch the unit.
Another option is that you ring the Kenwwod customer service number and ask how them what the button press combination is for forcibly ejecting cds from the unit. you may need to ask for someone in repairs there to get a knowlegable answer,
Hope this helps
Cheers

Bad radio reception

Problem: Radio Reception is bad to non-existant. AM is usually worse than FM.

Reason: Antenna connector has come loose, and needs to be reconnected. This happens when a passenger pushes the carpet toward the firewall and disconnects the plug.

Affected Model Years: 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003

Permanent Fix:

1. First check to make sure the antenna at the back of the radio has not come loose.
2. Remove the plastic cover on the front passenger door threshold held in place by three pressure clips.
3. Peel back the carpet on the front seat passenger floor.
4. Locate the coax antenna cable running along the side.
5. Reconnect the two pieces of antenna that have come loose.
6. Roll the carpet back, and re-install the threshold cover.

No, you have the battery wire hooked up to the ignition switch.
Here is the owners manual with wiring diagram.
http://inform3.kenwoodusa.com/manuals/KDC219.pdf

Yellow wire must go directly to fused HOT (battery). Not through ignition switch, red goes to switch.
Good Luck
