How to change the properties of a song in Zune

Hello. I use my Zune to teach Jazzercise and need to change some properties of some of my songs on my Zune. Most Jazzercise instructors are on iPod and iTunes and they have found ways to make these changes easily but I can't figure out how to change these things on the Zune:

One thing I need to do is shorten some of the songs by shaving some seconds off the end (or the beginning, depending).

Secondly, I need to be able to adjust the volume at which the song was originally recorded so that one song doesn't get quiet after a loud song, and vice versa.

Any ideas how I can change these properties? Thanks so much!

Go to the Microsoft website and enter in the search bar: "edit id3 tags in windows media player" - it will give you detailed instructions

But, generally, you can right click a song and click on Find Album Information - it is a very tedious and time consuming process but well worth the effort

As far as shaving off the songs and changing the volume level, you will need to get an audio editing program like WAV Editor to do that

I download songs onto my computer that I want to ...

I'm assuming you have the Zune software installed. You'll need the software in order to interact with the Zune device, it does not work as a "mass-storage device" like some other media players.
The Zune software will find all your music. Open the software and on the top left make sure you're in the "Collection" and then "Music" category. Then click on the right hand side on the "Songs" tab. You'll see all your songs on your computer. Connect the Zune and wait a few seconds and in the bottom left hand corner of the software you'll see your device connected.
Click on one of the songs and then press "CTRL + A" and all of your songs will be selected. Click and hold and then drag one of the songs to the little icon of your Zune in the bottom left and then all of your music will sync to the device.
Hope this helps.

I had a Zune 30gb and all my music is on my comp with the Zune software. I broke my Zune 30gb and bought a Zune 120gb; but, how do I set this new one up with the software so it can get all my songs?

You will have to re-sync it. You cannot just upload the "image" of your old Zune. You will have to treat is as if you never had a Zune in the first place. You CAN transfer your Zune's name and tags, but you can't have it automatically upload all of the old songs onto it.

Songs missing on playlists after syncing Zune

I ended up moving a song to each playlist. I have no idea why this would work, but after doing this it seemed to recognize each playlist and all of the songs were then added.

Zune deleting songs

yes it is due to the zune software not being able to locate the songs. make sure they are available and keep trying. also the zune software constantly search the internet to update your music information and album art. it will automatically update the songs on the zune when you connect it

Download

Set your download folder(wherever the music is) to a "watched folder" in the options of the Zune software... next time it searches for songs it will list it in your library songs. then you can right click the songs and click "send to *zune name*"
