MY EPC NETBOOK WON'T TURN ON, I TURNED IT ONE OCE TO CHANGE THE DATE AND TIME AND BACKGROUND IMAGE, I SHUT IT DOWN AND WHEN I TRIED TO TURN IT ON AGAIN NOTHING?

Can you reinstall windows reboot your pc then tap F8 and then click repair my pc then see if you have an option to reinstall windows

try a system restore that will bring the laptop back to an earlier time before this happened, if successful your settings should restored. Why did this happen? bad download, a bad device driver, or program compatibility.

keep the power button pressed for some time it would automatically shut down

there are two ways to change your desktop background
method 1:
open the image and right click on the image select set as background image

method 2:

right click on desktop
select properties.
there click on browse (browse for the picture you want as your desktop background)
select the image file. click ok
then click apply

that is done.

What do you mean you can't change your background image? Please clarify. Do you need instructions on how to change it? Or you have tried and it won't work?

If you have win xp, right click with your mouse in the middle of the desktop (away from an icon) then choose "preferences" and go to screen saver and then also wallpaper and choose another image. Make sure you save before exiting.

Unlimited research shows that if you have Windows 7 Starter on your asus netbook it won't allow you to customize it, which sucks because I didn't know that until I got home and tried to change it -____- (i have the same laptop & same issue)

Right click in any image & click " Set as Desk Top Back ground" it will change.

The battery is low on charge or shorted inside and won't take a charge dragging the voltage down so that even the battery charger won't start your computer.

Change the battery with new and charge with a known good charger.

If it is brand new, take it back and get a different unit or your money back.

Otherwise, it sounds like somebody told it to restore to factory settings. This will cause it to "re-image" itself back to the way it was the first time you turned it on.

After you get the software, you need to find a SD card which is more than 512M to copy the software to setup the software.


Please do as follows:

1. Please decompress the files , open the VT8505 folder. Then copy the file “script” to your SD card.
(Very important, you only need copy the script folder to your SD card. don't include the VT8500 or VT8505 folder.)
2. Turn off your netbook,
3. Insert the SD card to your netbook.
4. Turn on your netbook. Then the software will setup to your netbook Automatically. Usually it will take several minutes to complete setup.
5. After completed setup. It will show a windows screen calling for your to turn off the netbook.
6. Pull the SD card out off the netbook.
7. Then turn on the netbook and all shoudl work fine.
