You could be set in draft mode in your printers properties, or, you could be using ECONO Mode.

Sometimes People use PCL Fonts for their printers, and other use PS Fonts. PCL is the typical font type. PS is post script, which Adobe type fonts are used.
If you are set to PS Fonts using MS Word, you might try PCL Font types instead.

We suggest you first attempt the basic/universal Canon ink level reset procedures before attempting any of the more advanced procedures provided on our Inkjet411 site*

A. Standard Ink Level Reset Procedure (printers without LCD display):
[ Refer to the 1st support video: http://inkjet411.com/?page_id=62 ]
1) At computer screen message, select 'Stop'/'Reset', 'OK', or 'Resume'.
....or....
2) Select 'Stop'/'Reset', 'OK' or the 'Resume' button (triangle-circle icon) on your printer for 5-8 seconds:
- Printing may continue under the 'ink out' condition.

B. Standard Ink Level Reset Procedure (printers with LCD display):
[ Refer to the 2nd support video: http://inkjet411.com/?page_id=62 ]
1) Install cartridge and start print job.
2) After first message appears, click 'OK' to continue. Printer should start printing.
3) If second message appears and printer's LCD screen displays error code "E", then DO NOT click 'CANCEL PRINTING'.
4) Press and hold down 'Stop'/'Reset' button (triangle-circle icon) on your printer for 5-8 seconds. Printer should start printing.

If you are able to produce a self test print, this is good since it illustrates that the cartridges are electrically stable...if you observe any 'E' or 'V' error states (i.e. E13 or V162 for example), this may indicate there is possibly an internal electrical problem with one of the ink cartridges. Refer to your user guide if E/V error messages are displayed.

*If, after following the suggested ink monitoring/level reset procedures, you still have an error condition which prohibits regular printing, then the ink cartridge probably has internal electrical damage (micro-electronics failure); such a failure is unrelated to the ink cartridge refilling process. Typically, when the cartridge fails the problem is 'masked' by the ink out/empty condition so it can be difficult to distinguish between the two. Many cartridges eventually do encounter problems or failures, especially after their original ink is gone and they are re-used, and this is often unrelated to the refill process (i.e. typically ~2 years from original manufacturing date). Refer to picture at bottom of this page: http://inkjet411.com/?page_id=1533

To verify the Canon printer is functional, install a brand new cartridge in it - this will 100% confirm whether your refilled, compatible or remanufactured ink cartridge is faulty or not.

It lists the error conditions, describes the possible causes, and provides steps to resolve the conditions. Description of the control panel The control panel contains two lights and one lighted button. Patterns of light indicate printer status.Figure 1: Location of control panel c00007297.jpg 1 - Ready light 2 - Go button and light 3 - Attention light Figure 2: Light conditions c00007298.jpg 1 - Light off 2 - Light on 3 - Light blinking The following table explains the lights on the control panel. Attention light Indicates that a printer media input tray is empty, a print cartridge door is open, a print cartridge is missing, or other errors. Status light patterns This section describes the meaning of the light patterns. If a problem persists, see the flyer that came in the printer box for contact information, or click here to go to "Contacting HP support" below . Ready Light pattern c00007299.jpg Description The printer is ready to print. Action No action is necessary. To print a demo page, press and release the GO button on the control panel. Processing Light pattern c00007300.jpg Description The printer is receiving or processing data. Action Wait for the job to print. Continuable error Light pattern c00007301.jpg Description The printer is in manual feed mode. OR The printer is out of memory. Action The software controls manual feed. If manual feed mode is not wanted, change the setting from the printer properties. See the User Guide for information about changing printer properties. OR Take one of the following actions:
  • The page being printed might be too complex for the printer memory capacity. To continue printing, press and release the GO button. The printer might print a partial page, or the quality might be lower than normal.
  • Lower the resolution. See the User Guide for information about understanding print quality settings and changing print quality settings.
  • Add more memory. See the User Guide for information about installing DIMMs (HP LaserJet 1300 series only).
If the problem persists: Attention state Light pattern c00007302.jpg Description The printer is in an error state that requires operator intervention or help. The door is open, the media is out, the printer cartridge is installed incorrectly, or the media is jammed. Action
  1. Check that the printer cartridge door is completely closed.
  2. Load media into the correct input tray.
  3. Check that the print cartridge is correctly installed in the printer. (See the user guide for information about changing the print cartridge.)
  4. Check for any media jams and clear them. (See the user guide for information about clearing jams.
  5. Check that the left side panel is completely closed. If the left side panel is completely closed, open the left side panel and push the door sensor. Occassionally, if the left side panel appears closed, the sensor will still remain in the open position, generating this error. Pushing the sensor will shut the door tight, returning the printer to the normal mode.

Hp laserjet 1320 printer printing problum the printing black black point.

Black printer ink in HP Printer may fail to be recognized by the printer. Most times an error message will be sent indicating that something is wrong with the black print cartridge. Sometimes the printer may accept to print with the black ink, but the printouts may have horizontal lines and very illegible letters. In such a case a manual cleaning of the print head should be carried out. In doing the manual cleaning, one should spray Windex heavily on paper towel and wipe off the surface of the print head.

HP MFP 1522nf turns on and display error 49 turn off and on. The printer restarts and gives the same message again and again.

You need to be a little bit more specific nex time, the error 49 its normally related to an internal communication error between the DC Controller and the formatter board on the unit
Now we need to know if the problem appear when scanning, copying, printing, sending or receiving faxes
Heres some troubleshooting you can follow, its going to clear this error 49 most of the cases :
1. Turn off the product.
2. Press and hold both the down arrow button and the Cancel button, and then turn on the product.
3. Wait until the message Permanent storage init. appears, and then release the buttons.
4. When the printer comes back to ready, go to hp.com and download the latest firmware update for this 1522nf

Smudged printing. Ink cartridge just replaced.

This is a laser printer and does not have a print head to be cleaned. Fortunately it does have a laser cartridge that can easily be replaced and solve all of your problems : ) The replacement cartridge is a HP Q2613A or the high capacity HP Q2613X. Your local Cartridge World should have a high quality refilled cartridge that will treat you very well and save you money.
