Question about Protron Televison & Video
Try using a DVD cleaning disk-If you already have done that- then try this before you take the machine in for repair. Take a HOSPITAL straw(you know, the type that bends) and insert it into the disk drawer. Now blow very hard-but try not to get spit down the straw. Move the straw around blowing up and down and sideways until you think you have really covered everywhere in the DVD slot. Then if you have one , put your DVD cleaning disk in, and run it. I know it seems like a crazy thing to do, but it has worked for others in the same situation. It works on RCA multi disk CD players too. If that doesn't work-it would probably be cheaper to purchase a new machine than get it fixed. Let me know if this helps. Remember that DVD lasers do burn out from time to time, and cannot be fixed.
