Clear the statistics registers with 2nd [CSR]. Add the data points with Sigma+. Errors can be corrected with 2nd [Sigma-]. Calculate the mean with 2nd [xbar].

Use the (-) key located just to the right of the decimal point key to enter the negative sign, not the - key located to the right of the 6 key.

On the TI30X IIB the negative symbol is located one button to the right of the decimal place, just below the number 3.
To enter a negative number press the negative symbol "(-)" whose location was described above and then enter the positive form of the number. You will see the negative symbol on the screen indicating that the number is negative.

If you are looking for a key, there is none. However, you can still determine the absolute value easily.

1. If you have a single number and its positive, the absolute value is the number itself.
2. If you have a single number and it is negative, just drop the leading minus sign or negate it by pressing the change sign key (+ -).
3. If you are handling a complicated expression just calculate it. When you obtain the final result (a number) use rule 1 or 2 above.
   

I think you are using the minus symbol instead of the negative symbol (located below the 3).

if there is a square root symbol on one button than use that.
punch in your numeber en then that button to derive result.

On a Casio you have to invoke the function call first because they have shared buttons.

if its any calculator TI-83 or higher it should have a usb port so you can change pesonal info or add different things like time date or even games.
