If compressor runs but not cooling, points to compressor failure or a blockage in pipework
for either fault, not a do it yourself job

Hello,I defrosted my electrolux chest freezer and now problem is power is on but not freezing, alarm light keeps coming and keeps bleeping every 2 minutes and goes off and on

Is the compressor running? if it is running, but there is no cooling, it is time to buy a new freezer.
If the compressor is NOT running, I would suspect the compressor start relay.
How did you defrost it?

I have whirpool chest freezer defrosted and off for 4 months then turned on 2 red lights going motor is running but not freezing turned up temp to coldest tempurature with amber light on stil the motor...

Since the motor is running, the compressor it is connected to must also be running. The compressor is the thing that provides the cooling under normal circumstances. The only thing I can think of as to why you are not getting cooling is that the refrigerant charge has leaked out of the system. I don't know anything about the red lights you mention.

Haier 5.3 Cu ft Chest freezer. power is on but compressor doesn't run. There is click sound but nothing happens after.

The click sound is the compressor starter relay closing but if nothing further happens it is likely that there has been a compressor failure

I cleaned my freezer and now it won't freeze

When you say "cleaned", did you defrost it? And. if so, could you have damaged the internal lining? Often the coil inside the wall of a chest freezer can fracture if hit or stabbed at during defrosting.
Other than that, is the compressor running (you would hear it)? it may have overheated. If not running, see if it feels hot (siezed) or cold (no power from thermostat). If cold, put it on fast freeze and see if it kicks into life (thermostat faulty) or not (compressor fault, time for a new freezer!)
Let me know how you get on!

I have a deep freezer, the light is on but doesn't freeze. It's only 2 yrs old what could be the problem?I unpluged it and waited 10 mins pluged back in and nothing the red light stayed on but...

Well a freezer is easy to repair. The circuit goes from one side of the power cord to the cold control and down to the compressor then out to the other side of the power cord. Id the control or compressor relay is open then she won't freeze. All the parts to it are listed HERE.
From the list I see an overload for the compressor. If that one is open it won't freeze. Bypass the temp control wires to see if she runs.

I have deep freezer chest that does not freeze but when you plug it in you can hear it click on but will not get cold at all has been unplugged for a few years but stored in a dry building

If it doesn't get cold at all, then your compressor is not running. Which could be the start relay or start capacitor or even the compressor. The relay and capacitor are not that expensive and pretty easy to replace, but if it is the compressor then you might not want to put that much money into an older unit.

Water freezes in bottom freezer and then leeks onto floor

Hello,

If your chest freezer is showing signs of age, it may begin leaking. There are a few methods for troubleshooting faulty chest freezers but knowing some of the obvious signs of why it might leak can be very useful if you need to fix it yourself. Leaking is not limited to older models so be aware that certain maintenance procedures can help prevent leaks in newer models.

Understanding Changeable Parts Prior to Troubleshooting
There are not that many serviceable or changeable parts inside a chest freezer. A chest freezer works on a very simple basis. It contains evaporator coils, condenser coils, a compressor, a compressor overload, a relay and a thermostat. These are the basic moving parts of a chest freezer but some of them are not serviceable.

The condenser coils condense the water and the evaporator coils disperse excess water caused by the freezing process. The compressor is a heating component which compresses excess water and recycles it through the system.

Defrosting
Remove the contents of your chest freezer and place them in an alternative area to keep them frozen. Unplug and defrost your chest freezer before you do any troubleshooting or maintenance. Wipe and clean the inside of the freezer so that when you plug it back in it, will free of any grime or loose bits of debris. A clean freezer will also help to promote visibility when it comes to fixing leaks.

Where is the Leak?
Once you have defrosted your freezer, you need to establish which part of the freezer the leak is coming from. It could be coming from the inside of the freezer and this would indicate a thermostat issue. Alternatively, it could be coming from the freezing unit at the back of the freezer. Water always finds a way to escape so your leak could be restricted to one place but the actual cause could be elsewhere. Locate the drain tube which is normally found at the back of the freezer. You will probably have to unscrew or unclip the backing panel.

Check the Drain Hole
If the drain hole on your chest freezer has become blocked for any reason, you will need to clear it thoroughly to continue getting the best performance from your chest freezer. The drain hole is a component within the lower works of the freezer through which excess water runs to be recycled.

Compressor Issues
Your chest freezer contains a compressor which evaporates the excess water from the freezer. The freezer will defrost excess ice and the water flows down the drain tube to a pan where the heat of the compressor evaporates the water. If your compressor has failed, the leak will be caused by the water failing to evaporate. Have a repair contractor replace your compressor or, if this is not cost-effective, you may need to buy a new freezer.

Thermostat
If your freezer is not freezing at all and is dispersing water in several places, you may well have a thermostat failure. Check that your freezer is cycling correctly prior to making changes or altering the thermostat. Only if the freezer is not cycling are you likely to need to change the thermostat. If you have checked all the parts of your freezer and you still cannot locate the leak, calling in a service technician might be the best answer if you can not handle it yourself..
Do take care in solving the problem....

My GE chest freezer stop freezing. the light is on no sounds from the freezer. what could be the problem?

There are many reasons why is not working. 1.if the compressor is not running, Relay or overload burn, they are attached to the side of the compressor 2, thermostat may not be working. 3. if all of the part i mentioned are working fine your compressor may need to be replace.4 if the compressor runs but still don't get cool, there is a internal gas leak inside the freezer. The only way to find out theses issues, is by having the necessary tools and experience.

Avanti chest freezer cf199 will not freeze. A

Sounds like your freezer has lost its charge of refrigerant. That motor sound is the compressor. And the internal thermal overload is tripping it out every minute because refrigerant also cools the compressor motor. Have a licensed repairman find the leak, seal it,and recharge it with R134a refrigerant.
