Question about DVD & Blu-Ray Players

1 Answer

Every time i put in a video into the vcr and press play,it plays for about 2 seconds then shuts the power of the vcr off. When i turn the power to the vcr back on it ejects the video tape. I've tried it several times and it does the same thing everytime. Is there a way to fix it?

I have a funai dvd/hd/vcr combo. everything works fine other than the vcr which plays for about 5 seconds and then powers off. same happens if you record or fast forward or reverse. There is some sort of transport error and it shutsdown with no onscreen error message and only a flashing w on the front panel. The vcr is rarely used and the unit is very clean internally. Mechanically it all seams to work if only for a few seconds. Can anyone help? model hdr 2735.

Make sure the device is plugged into the household power supply and is switched on if no indicator lights are illuminated on the control panel. Watch for any power-saving technology that can shut the recorder down when it's not being used. Try the "Power" button again.
    • 2
Verify that the media you are using is compatible with the device. Most combos record to DVD-RAM/-R/-RW/+R/+RW Discs on the disc side. VHS cassettes can have erasure tabs, so check that the tab is still there if you can't record to the cassette. Watch out for copy-protection technology on either the tape or disc. Often it's indicated on the packaging. Copy protection is designed to stop illegal reproductions, so may block many recordings of copyrighted material.

Connect a television to the "Video Out," "S-Video Out" or "Component Video Out" jacks on the DVD-VCR combo if you can't see video from the combo playing on the television.

Forcibly eject a disc if it is stuck in the combo. Often, manufacturers will create a sequence of buttons to use that accomplishes this. On a Panasonic, you force the combo into "Standby" by pressing "Power" for 10 seconds. Then press and hold "Stop" and the "Channel Up" button together for five seconds, and the disc should eject.

This combo has a problem with the vcr unit which take up wheel will stop working and spill the tape. the unit will stop and eject the tape. You have to replace the whole vcr assembly.

1: set tv to channel you want your vcr output to be on. 2: turn vcr on (if it is a vcr/dvd combo make sure it is on vcr) 3: put in video tape. 4: press play button one time, release it, and then press and hold it for three to five seconds. i had to call customer support to figure this out on mine.

well sounds like one of the players is not in correct spot thus shuts down (kinda timing issue) see if there is anything preventing it from going jiggle or turn upside down see if you hear anything.

How to set up to copying a video tape.

This is a snap, as long as you have a second VCR if not you can't do it.

1. Hook the out put line(s) from VCR1 to the input line(s) on VCR2.
2. Put recorded tape into VCR1 and press play.
3. Set VCR2 to the channel that VCR1 is playing on, it's usually 3 or 4.
4. rewind the recorded tape and put the blank into VCR2.
5. Press record on VCR 2 and play on VCR1.
if you want an exact copy stop here. . . or
6. pause VCR2 when ever something comes up you don't want to record, ie a commercial if you'r re-recording a movie from TV. be for warned though each time you re-record an analog recording, like a VHS tape, the audio and vido tracks get further and further apart. After about the second or third time you re-record a tape you'll hear something before you see it, or vice-versa. I hope this helps you out.
