It depends on where the problem is. Check in device manager that it is working. If not try reloading th driver. Depending on how you're getting online, if you use DSL or Cable you should be able to just plug in. Go to network connections, right click on the connection you're using and go to properties. In the menu that opens hightlight Internet Protocol TCP/IP and click on Properties. You need to do this as an Administrator. Make sure that "Obtain IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically" is marked. If all that is good, unplug the modem ac connection for 30 seconds and then plug it back in. Wait a few minutes and the connection should come back. If it doesn't right click on the connection and left click on Repair. If you are using a dial up server you need to make sure that the Phone number is the right one.
