I know exactly what you're going through
Give the router's Customer service a call.
Then tell them you need to do Port Forwarding for Xbox Live
On my Belkin I had to do the same thing, but i also set the xbox to run on a separate I.P address, and then turned the firewall off on that I.P specifically.
The ports should be :
* TCP 80
* UDP 88
* UDP 3074
* TCP 3074
* UDP 53
* TCP 53
If that doesnt work it may be your bandwidth. I have been having issues with my wireless on Live because of having too many things running. Try unplugging the ethernet from some things in your home, or turning off the wireless on your laptops before doing this, just to make sure that's really what's wrong.
