I know exactly what you're going through

Give the router's Customer service a call.

Then tell them you need to do Port Forwarding for Xbox Live

On my Belkin I had to do the same thing, but i also set the xbox to run on a separate I.P address, and then turned the firewall off on that I.P specifically.

The ports should be :

* TCP 80
* UDP 88
* UDP 3074
* TCP 3074
* UDP 53
* TCP 53

If that doesnt work it may be your bandwidth. I have been having issues with my wireless on Live because of having too many things running. Try unplugging the ethernet from some things in your home, or turning off the wireless on your laptops before doing this, just to make sure that's really what's wrong.

Good luck, and happy gaming.

Xbox nat setting

If you have a firewall or network hardware, such as a router, you might need to make a configuration change in order for your Xbox 360 console to communicate with Xbox LIVE. This configuration change is sometimes called “opening ports” or "port forwarding."

Xbox LIVE requires the following ports to be open: • TCP 80 • UDP 88 • UDP 3074 • TCP 3074 • UDP 53 • TCP 53

Xbox live says sutn bout my nat settings and i need to open some ports in order to have the best quality of xbox live...not one site actually tells me how to change them

First, try resetting your router/modem.
If that doesnt fix it you need to, from your computer, get into your settings on your router/modem. Typically from your internet browser you type in the top the modems IP address. Should be something like 192.168.1.XXX, depending on what type of modem it is will dictate what the last three are. You can find what that is by looking up your modems default IP address. If I remember right on a Linksys it is something like 192.168.1.1.... All of the settings can be modified from there. The Nat settings need to be set to open.

Hope that helps

I need to open my NAT type for xbox live

You can contact NETGEAR support to help you open the NAT settings. ( they know how to do it )

Note:
The simplest way and most efficient way to connect to xbox live is using DIRECT MODEM CONNECTION

For compatible list of devices and internet service provider, please check the website ( www.xbox.com )

Change NAT to open

First make sure your security type on the router is WEP-Personal. You may need to get the port range for that game or manufacturer. Then enter them in to the gaming tab. This will keep ports open all the time. NAT 2 is acceptable but you want NAT 1. Some internet connections cannot get NAT1.reply if you need further assistance

Change NAT to open

You need to open all the ports for the xbox live. The NAT of that router model cannot be configured to open. Its just a simple NAT for internet connection.

Can not access my ip address in order to change NAT settings

Hi Brengolfter3,

My guess is, the IP to your router is still 192.168.x.x. Only way you are going to be able to get to the router, is to set your machine to a static IP, and then try to get to the router.
This site tells you how set it to static, http://corz.org/comms/hardware/router/static.ip.address.php

The IP you listed is assigned to Easton Utilites, so I have asume it is your internet IP. You might want to check the Xbox troubleshooting for the Xbox, so you don't have to disable your Nat, which is a firewall, by default. Good Luck!
