Open your network connection and configure your ip address manually
copy the same ip address configured by the dhcp to you manually in the ip address fields
in your default gateway type 192.168.1.1
in your primary dns type 192.168.1.1
in your secondary dns type 192.168.0.1

save it and chek your connection

If you cant the Win2000 to go online wirelessly then you must install a wireless adapter on that computer.

Were you able to check the IP address of your computer?

To do that, you click start go to Run type cmd.

Then on the black window type "ipconfig/all"

then tell me the IP Address, Default Gateway, and DNS Servers. If you will get an error message kindly post it here.

Don't type ipconfig on your Run window, it won't really open it. Again you need to type command or cmd on your run window. Then after it open your command prompt ( a black window) type there ipconfig/all.

Trying to run setup wizard on my WRT54G-TM,so i can block other people from borrowing my internet.I have one desk top hooked up and two laptops, works great ,but when i run the wizard disk it tells me...

To test your Internet connection, connect a LAN cable from your computer to the DSL or cable modem and if you can browser the Internet then your Internet connection is OK, then the problem is the LAN cnnection to the Linksys or the Linksys may not configured correctly.

Connect a LAN cable from the D-Link to your laptop/computer'sLAN port, open the browser on your laptop/computer and enter the D-Link'sconfiguration URL..
http://192.168.0.1
The default login = admin
The default PW = blank (just press Enter) You can now change the default password.
You can now configure the wireless settings. Now configure the wireless card in your computer/laptop withthe router's wireless settings.

Not sure if I understand properly but your router should have a WAN port or an "Internet" port

your modem should be connected to it and your PC should be on any of the LAN port
