Question about Pioneer VSX-94TXH

Pioneer VSX-94TXH locks up and requires me to remove power at outlet to resume working

My Pioneer VSX-94TXH locks up for unknown reasons and will not respond to any commands or changes in volume, input or anything.
I have to remove the power cord from the wall outlet and replace. The the unit will power up fine and begin to function normally.
This is very frustrating and Pioneer told me its a known issue and then when I call back they said they its not.
They want me to drop it off at a service center and I am not confident they will not be able to easly reproduce. So I am very concerned I will be with out a stereo or TV (home theater) for a long time.
PLEASE HELP!

Just bought one, got it yesterday.  It only took me 10-20 minutes to get it to do it.  Like you I had to unplug it to turn it off.  Plugging it back in right away did not make it work but when I left it overnight it seemed to be working.  10-20 minutes later, yep did it again.  Right now I'm sending it back for a new one.  If the new one does this as well I'll have to reconsider the Pioneer.

    • I had the same problem, I sent it in for service and they replaced a digital board. I bought it in April and started having issues with it locking up about 6 weeks later, I had to unplug the power cord. It took 4 weeks for repairs and when I got it back and plugged in the HDMI I could not get a picture just sound. It has been shipped out again for service.

I have the exact same problem. Unplugging it for 1-2 minutes does the trick but this receiver is WAY too expensive for this kind of issue. Next time I'll spend the right amount of money and get a Marantz or Denon

I had the same thing with mine. After a couple of weeks in the local repair shop, it was determined that the main? in-put chip on the back of the front panel was bad. Had it replace for about $125 out the door and it's been working great since.

I cannot get the unit to switch on, I have changed the fuse, removed all cables

Was the fuse you replaced blown? Has AC outlet on the wall been verified to be working properly? If outlet works, modular type AC power cable found to be properly seated and fuse was "OK" you've had a power supply failure that requires shop service.

How do I connect my behringer fbq6200 to my vsx-94txh reciever?

Believe me when I suggest NOT to do this. It's not that it can't be done, but you're really not going to help anything unless your speakers are simply terrible to begin with.

If you desperately WANT to do it, then you would run it through the "Tape IN/OUT" RCA jacks on the back. For it to work, you will have to keep your "Tape" in "Active Status."

The problem is not clear. Does the unnamed multichanger turn of/on wit hthe VSX-498 or is the VSX-489 having power issues?

Is the power cord of the multichanger plugged into the back of the VSX maybe the outlet is SWITCHED with the power state of the VSX..

A/V receiver freezes up and has to be unplugged for it to work "almost normal"..

I had the exact same problem with mine. Local repair shop had to replace the main in-put chip on the back of the front panel. Works great now. Cost about $125 out the door.

If I'm not mistake, it's dependant on you monitor's ability to display 1080p. I believe the defaul setting on the 94TXH is to read the TV's max resolution and anything above will not feed.
