These are capacitors. The c18 and c36 are the location of the capacitors on the power supply board. The 2200uf is the capacitance of the capacitor and the 10v in the voltage the capacitor can handle. You should be able to purchase these at radio shack or most electronic supply stores. However to replace them you will need to know how to desolder the old caps and resolder in the new ones. I just got through repairing one of these units and to extend the life I used a higher voltage value cap. If you need anymore help or can't find the caps feel free to contact me philbertduncan@yahoo.com

Cannot find power adapter for mms171w philips system. Needs AC/AC adapter with 10v ac at 1.8 amps output. Cannot find aftermarket counterpart either. Help. Lost adapter while moving.

Hi there,
What does the other end of the adapter look like?
Is it a conventional circular one or is it a special port like it's thin square like or USB like maybe?
If it's conventional any 10v 1.8amp or 2 amp output should do and a lot of them are available in e-bay or if there's a Best Buy, Staples, Etc near you can just drop a visit purchase one and it should work like a charm.
However if it's not a conventional adapter you may have to contact philips and purchase one that is compatible from them.
Hope this shed some light on your problem!

Re: Onkyo DV-CP500 DVD player stuck in standby mode (by 7 users)

Hi Yes, sorry just saw this comment. Swap out C7, C17 and C18 in the power supply. Also I would check if you are getting 9Volts to the motor control IC's pin 7 coming off of C005 on the Mechanism Board which is under the unit. The hole for the C005 cap was drilled into a very narrow section of the circuit board and has marginal connection at best.. mine stopped working because of this 6 months after I fixed the power supply.

LG LRM-519 Not responding to anythiing

I had a LRM-519 that would not get past a very dimly lit "hello" on the LED screen. I called tech support and was advised to make sure no disk was in the unit and turn off the power from the unit (not the remote) and unplug it from the wall outlet. While unplugged, hold down the power button for 30 seconds then plug it back in. This didn't work the first time, but after a few tries it worked for me. My unit hadn't worked for nearly 3 months prior to this. Good luck.

DVD player stuck in standby mode

Bad caps in the power supply is causing this. C17 (10v,470uf), C17,c14 (10v,1000uf) and C18 (10v,470uf). Replace with same capacitance values but 25 volt rating 85 C. Just fixed mine half hour ago works great.
