I have a similar problem...some of the games I have load up and play FINE....but others (some brand new that I just bought!) are constantly "unplayable", no matter how clean they are - brand new - or how many times I try. I can even, then, put the last game I was playing back in and it reads just fine!?!? WHY and what can I do about this? It is not a consistent problem happening with all of the game discs for me....

Microsoft Xbox have some common problem like red lights, E74 and Disc Read Error. Microsoft is providing extended warranty for red lights problem, Means you will have to spend some money in order to get this problem repaired from Microsoft also you will have to wait for 3-4 weeks to get your Xbox back. There are many reasons disc read error can occur in your Xbox like your disc might not be clean, laser might also be dirty and many more common problem. I would suggest you to first clean out the disc, you are using. If that don't solve the problem you can also take the help of DIY guide available at Internet. I think you have got good no. of options to get your Xbox repaired, Choice is yours.

The xbox360 drive is exposed to dirt and dust, a poor design, especially if the xbox is placed horizontally on a carpeted floor, the lens can be blown clean with a low pressure air supply. I use a vaccuum cleaner on blow, with a piece of fish tank air hose to reduce the nozzle size small enough to go inside the drive, does not take much to do it. a can of pc air, liquid air for cleaning keyboards also will do it

My Halo 3 disc is scratched, i have tried all the tricks and it still wont work, i need some help

If this ever happens to you I recommend going to Blockbuster or something and renting a copy of the scratched up game for one day After you have done this follow these steps. 1. Insert the disk, make sure it is readable i.e. playable 2. In the My Xbox section of the Xbox Dashboard scroll all the way to the left until you have the option "play game" now press Y 3. When you press Y you will enter the game details section, scroll down to the Install Game option. 4. Wait a while for the game to install (this will take up some drive space but it shouldn't be too horrible) 5. after the game is installed you Xbox will use the downloaded files to play the game. Insert your original scratched up disk and try to play it. You should be good to go from there. 6. If this still doesn't work your disk is beyond repair

Cant play campaign

Halo 3 is buggy disk , I have 2 brand new copys of halo 3 for testing repaired drives
and found that of all the 360 I repair, benq drives will read 99% of the time the hitachi
seem too slow on the seek time to get a
lock/read resulting in a dirty disk error.

Halo 3 does not play on all 360
its just a picky disk .There seem to
be two xboxs thoes that will load halo 3
and thoes that will not.

Sorry this may not be very helpful

Xbox 360 Pro : To Play This Disk Error

Unfortunately , a new xbox360 game cant be played in a normal xbox (not xbox 360)

The problem is that the new xbox is way different on the inside than the original xbox is. Because it is way more powerful, you can put an old xbox game into a 360, and it will work fine (most of the time), but if you try the reverse there is no way to make it work.

Xbox console reads disks then says unplayable disk

this is the laser unit that is faulty, it either needs replacing or you could try cleaning it with a cotton earbud to see if that helps. if its still doing the same after cleaning you could also try adjusting the laser power, sometimes after its been played for years the laser loses power and you will have faults such as this. adjusting the 'pots' on the laser itself to around 282 will help greatly.
if you need a guide just email me or let me know via my website at www.fixmyconsole.co.uk and i will be more than glad to help you.

Can't run Halo 3 at all.

Next to cleaning your CD good, try also getting the laser eye cleaned as well, this might help. Also, if the disk is too scratched up then it will not read it, the scratches might be too deep.

Xbox360 unplayable disks

clean the drive,
many people put the xbox on the floor, the cooling fan sucks all kins of **expletive** into the open drive. a small piece of fishtank hose to the blow nozzle of a vaccuum cleaner, to blow loose the debri, and then **** it out. try not to disassemble the xbox, MS will void the extended red ring of death warranty for any opened xbox

Xbox doesnt read any disks

Similar problem here. Worked fine last night. This morning...every disc put in gets you a "unplayable" response. Does play DVDs though. Weird. Called xbox and they are sending us a box for repair. This is the second time sending it in. We had the ring of death crap before and had to send it in. It was in repair when Halo 3 came out. My son was having fits not being able to play it.

xbox is not on the top of my list as being a good, reliable gaming system.

Halo 3 unplayable

some time your laser is a little wack but if you are haven trouble like that then send it to repair and youll get a new xbox so it works out for you.. or just buy the 29.99 warranty on your box and get a 350.00 new box in 2 weeks. i did that once wen i still had warranty on it so.

Unplayable disc

Your system is fine, the disk is a different story. By moving your Xbox 360 the drive does some funky things. The disk probably has some deep grooves around the egde. In future, dont move the 360 or backup your xbox 360 games with http://www.everything4360.com Support Rich
