Question about JVC GR-D22U Camcorder

1 Answer

Unable to see any picture on my JVC GR-D22U Camcorder. Please help*

Hi,

My camcorder is about 4 years old and it stopped working about a year ago. Initially it would record really dark images and now it does not see any picture at all. It also would error out saying the 'lens cap is on' when it would not be on. Tried changing batteries too but looks like even the new ones do not retain power. I can see my recorded stuff on it though while it has its powercord connected to the power outlet. Am desperate to get this fixed as I invested about $500.00 on it. Your advise would be greatly appreciated.

I bought 3 Sony camcorders at different times, I have used not more than 20 times, and my brother bought another kind of camcorder did the same, but after 3-4 years, automatically quit one by one, even my brother’s camcorder quit within 4 years, this is what I think, the big companies like Sony, Jvc etc., won’t let you use the same unit for a long time, from our case, made us thought, they probably put a timer to control the age of the camcorders. Maybe we have to know how to adjust or change the timer chap.

I am still research about this case. And also I have a lot of documents can not transfer.

LENS CAP my camera is JVC, so When I'm online writing comes LENS CAP

Hi,
Lens Cap message appears due to failure of ccd imager chip in camcorder and ccd imager chip need to be replaced to solve this issue.
Local camera repair shop will replace ccd imager chip because camera will take apart and soldering work is required.
Hope this will help.
Thanks.

This is usually caused by a failed component in the moisture detection circuitry within the camera and can be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired qualified service technician.

In my opinion, Firewire is the best method for transferring video to your computer from your camcorder. The JVC GR-D22 and Dell Inspiron 9200 both have firewire ports if I am not mistaken.

JVC Picuture gets blurry

The ccd block is starting to fail. Thats the chip thats the eye of the camcorder at the back of the lense assy. Its mounted on a small circuit board. You can find the chip at parts.com. Its just a matter of dissassembling the camcorder and removing the chip from the board and soldering another onto it taking care not to over heat the chip. You do need good soldering skills.

Condensation error

I found instructions with pictures on fixing this problem online at
http://www.freewebs.com/ltooz/03jvcgrd70u.htm
The process involves taking the camera apart.
Other forums I have looked at have mentioned waiting the error out or allowing the camera to air out.
